I once stumbled upon a couple of bums in the woods. It seemed as though one of them was choking because the other bum was giving him the Heimlich maneuver. I ventured closer to see if I could help. And...it turned out they weren't doing the Heimlich maneuver...

The Eastern Cougar, long since extirpated (sadlly) according to reliable sources may be gone; but transplanted Western Cougars in NC, it's possible but highly unlikely simply because, thanks to us,, the environment can simply no longer support them. Yes, I work for a DNR in a very Appalachian state.

@@michael-eq3mt I live in Unger. We could only trap one bobcat on SC during a survey. The abundance of unmolested livestock here in Morgan Co iis prima facial evidence to the absence of big long tail cats. Berkeley and Jefferson Co. have developed way too far. I wish in a way they were here, but that would be there own death warrant. Even Raleigh and McDowell Co could not support them. I love this topic, though and enjoy the dialogue.

@@michael-eq3mt Did you know that the Eastern Cougar was recently removed from the endangered list only because its considered extinct. That's not me, that's the feds. Never a car strike in over one hundred years. I'm not calling you a liar, but the evidence to the contrary is overwhelming. You're far from the first person that has told me they have seen longtails around here though. I'm afraid I would have to see one to believe it.

They are for me lol! Those things scare me to death. We pulled 3 off of our 2 dogs after a 15 minute walk this past week. I'm not certain they would have attached, because they had their flea and tick pill just the week before! The ticks were just on the first layer of their fur, and thank God my husband spotted them as soon as we got back! However, that doesn't stop those bloodsuckers from attaching to me! I know 2 people who suffer from chronic Lyme disease! It was difficult to diagnose, and now they both have long term issues because of it. I think I will stay out of the woods. We will be walking other places, but if we return to the woods, my hair will he covered!

Hiya Mort, As a mom who potty trained 5 kids I found that any type of pull-ups or super absorbent diaper hinders the process. A cloth diaper or just padded underwear 🩲 let’s baby know when they gotta go. HTH 🥰 XOX Luna
