We have NO POWER ( electrical lines) at the off grid cabin. No problem, Danny shows the 12 volt system and how he has the bathroom light hooked up. The Bluetti solar generator works great for this 12 volt system. We have a small Bluetti that powers a light in the living room and the Rockpal generator powers the kitchen lights.

Great system, we have been living off grid for a while, and just recently decided to move back to Kansas and start all over on bare family land. We have to wait for this one to sell but excited for the new opportunity.

good job danny, I've been using my solar for house lighting for years, we don't turn on electric ( ac ) lights. my wind generator also helps keep my battery bank full when no sun and this past year we added solar grid tie to cut our electric bill for normal house use, went from $120 a month to $56 dollars a month and I'm always finding new ways to use my battery solar for more projects, keep up the good job, best of wish's to you two.

Absolutely awesome system. I have a 12 volt lighting system in every room in my house and batteries are charged by 4 100 watt panels. The living room light has been on for 2 years straight as all of our bulbs are LED. Awesome choice if there is a power outage or if your cabin is off-grid. I am a power generation technician and built my system in my houses due to severe power outages for up to 18 hours that happens regularly in my wife's city in the Philippines. We also have ports for charging phones and system is large enough to run 200 watt inverter for TV or laptop if needed. Keep your project going anyone who complains likes paying bills...

I run a 12V desk lamp for almost 8 hours, and charge my iPhone and iPad, and the batteries in my keyboard and mouse, off of an old truck battery that I charge every day with two 100W solar panels. It saves me almost $20 a month on the power bill. Small solar is the way to go for residential power.

Could you wire in a quick charger for your battery pack, to run off the generator when you do run it, to charge the batteries, so you can get more use out of burning fuel? Might be handy on days with a lot of cloud cover

Danny couldn't you add a small solar panel and a small wind generator like on a sailboat? My dad did a small solar panel on a 36 foot homemade boat and we would stay on her for 3-4 days at a time and have TV, Lights, Radio, Blender (all 12 volt) and a small 3 burner gas cook top. Worked like a charm. We never had problems.

Was your cigarette 12volt connection to your Jackery strong enough to handle all the connections to your fuse block when the lights were all on. What fuse did you use in your cigarette 12 volt connector? Great idea, hope to do the same for my cabin.

Danny Please Answer Would either of these listed in your video section, work in a 8’X12’ Palram Greenhouse? To get a Solar Light, Hooked up and about 3 Heating Pads hooked up Maybe a off of a extension cord?? Also need to run a small electrical fan/heater like Jess has on Root and Refuge in her blue Greenhouse?? I’m racking my brain these days trying to figure out how to do something I totally am new at!! I’m no where near a electrician!! Just a female wanting to make my Greenhouse work at night and in the winter..I need something that won’t break the bank account since I’ve got it all to purchase and get it all setup by this Fall?? I would appreciate any advice you could help with?? Thanks so much God Bless Sheila

Great video. But just wondering why you went this such heavy gauge wire for 12v lighting I thought 18 would be more than enough for low voltage lighting
@gannettstone711

Bigger gauge wire is to compensate for voltage drop.

Hey Danny, new subscriber here and at your Bible channel (even though your last video there was 1 year ago.) This was the first of your videos I saw and was impressed. I don't know diddly about DC power but you made me interested. At this time I have no plans of ever being off grid, but who knows, I might change my mind. I'll be watching a lot of your old and new videos in the future. Looking forward to diving in and watching a few more this evening. I'm hoping you'll resurrect your Bible channel soon. Until you do I'll watch what you already downloaded there. I'm new to KZfaq but you're welcome to check out my very unprofessional videos if you so desire. You'd be welcomed there.

That's super cool, but if all you need to do is see to use the restroom for a minute, why not just get a couple of the little round stick on lights that run by battery? I use them in my cabinets and a couple other places, you touch to click them on and off, and they're like$5 at Home Depot! And they last for a long time on the double A battery they use, so one by the light switch and one by the toilet, you're set!💖

I Used the motion sensor timed light switches for the individual rooms so when i came into the room it turned the light on in that room and the room or area i just left would turn off at a preset time that i set for 1 minute. That way the available power would move with me and only be running in the area i was occupying. You can get timer switches to run the bathroom and kitchen stove exhaust fans for about $17.00 each and they will run 12 volts or 120v.
