While we were in Louisiana, we drove out to the plantations from 12 Years a Slave starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lupita Nyong'o, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alfre Woodard, Paul Giamatti, Brad Pitt, and more. This movie is horrific, yet moving, inspiring, and beautifully shot. Most of the scenes filmed on plantations are closed to the public, but we were able to get permission to visit nearly ALL of them, so please check it out!
