I own a 2013 Vulcan Custom. First bike. 3 years in and I'm still in love. She's easy to work on, reliable, has the looks, and you can find them dirt cheap used. I got mine for $4K with 6500 miles. She's a great bike for all skill levels and normal sized men. Can't recommend this bike enough if you're beyond that HD vanity thing.

Thanks for all the comments about wind deflectors / lowers. I found a set today, and got them ordered.

Look into fork wind deflectors it sure seems to help turbulence related to helmet buffeting. All Kawasaki Vulcan models are fairly inexpensive, comfortable, and reliable. Thanks for sharing the video.

Definitely put the fork wind deflectors on. My wife has them on her 2008 and it definitely helps air flow. She also found a wonderful set of Kuryakin grips which totally eliminated all vibration at high speeds. Vulcan series are just plain built for reliability. You take good care of this motorcycle and your grandchildren will be riding them well after your gone.

Awesome bike. I just got a 2004 Vulcan 1500 and am looking forward to riding it this season in 2024.

You need to buy a set of what’s called LOWERS that mount below the windscreen that will eliminate most of the uncomfortable buffering you get at higher road speeds.

I have this one too and love it. Just over 3,000 miles on it. First thing I added were the lower wind deflectors.

I like your bike. My freind has one just like it. I currently own a Harley trike due to my wife's many health issues. She is crippled due to cancer and cancer treatments. But if I could get her on a two wheeler again it would be the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 CLassic LT.

Most important for any rider is pratice , practice , pratice in vacant parking lots at slow speeds. Utilize all the training you can get no matter how many years you have been riding. Put your ego away , be humble and ride your ride not anyone elses brother. God Bless. 13:33

I love my 900 LT - I put chrome risers on it, platforms for passenger, hard bags with more break lights, same seat as yours, upgraded grips, and so much more - if you take the windshield off your bike - I promise you will miss it. 😁

I've had a 900 Vulcan LT for a few years now. Best City Bike I've Ever Owned. Im thinking about Swapping the Front Belt Pulley "sprocket" with a Barron's Pulley, it's Two Teeth Larger. I just can't handle the RPM's @ 75mph. Hoping the Larger Front Pulley will bring down the RPM's to a "tolerable" level. 🤞

I’ve got a 2006 900 LT and I’ve put both Barron pulleys on mine. I started out with the one on the front and that helped a lot on the freeway but I wanted more. A whole lot less vibration on the freeway. Also installed better handle bar grips. I love this bike and will never sell it!

The classic comes with floor boards, in Australia they stopped selling the vulcan classic about a yr ago I bought a 2019 classic, great bike , has 10,000 miles on it, to put those extras on here cost way over $3000

I didn't add up all the extras to see the cost, but worth it for sure, if you can get this option.

Just to let you know, I had the same problem with the windshield. I couldn't see clearly thru the windshield, especially either when it sprinkled/ rained or misty mornings and it developed the fog on it. I determined that it was more dangerous in those conditions, so I ended up cutting off the top of my 21 inch windshield following the existing curviture of the edges. I ended up with a length of 15 inches from the top of the headlight tunnel of the shield to the very top and cut off 6 inches. Now my eye sight level is approximately 2 to 3 inches above the windshield (depending on my body posture) and have a very clear view of what's in front of me and without the head wind buffeting. Now if I stand up slightly on my floorboards while riding I could feel the buffeting starting to take effect. But during normal sitting, the wind just blows back above my helmet. I learned how to cut it down using a jigsaw, and sanding off the rough cut edge thru various grades of sandpaper by watching several channels of KZfaq on the subject of cutting your motorcycle windshield. I gotta tell you, I am 100% pleased with the results and still receive the wind protection that it was made for. Now I believe the original 21 inch sized windshield was tall enough to include a passenger, nus since I don't usually ride with a passenger, I didn't need such a large shield. And plus, it looks more sportier now with it cut down. I made sure I taped up both sides before measuring and cutting with that blue painters tape. My friends say I did a better job that the factory ever did. I bought construction paper from Walmart for about a dollar and used it as a template to trace out my windshield. With the tracing, taping, measuring, cutting and sanding it probably took about an hour for the job, besides stopping to take progression photos. in total it probably took about 90 min from start to finish. If you decide to cut yours down, just do it. You'll not regret it. Also, majority of the wind buffeting that you experience with a windshield is actually created from the wind coming from the bottom, I alleviated that by adding fork wind deflectors that I bought on eBay for around $20.00, I bought a set of black colored ones so also as to match not only my clear windshield but also my black batwing windshield that I change out from time to time. Respectfully, John BTW, I really like your windshield bag, where did you purchase that from and if you can remember what was the price?

I got some fork wind deflectors, it seems to help. Or it is my imagination, lol. I got the windshield bag for about $100 from Kawasaki website. www.kawasaki.com/en-us/shop/vehicle-accessories/motorcycle/vn900drfnl/K53000271/windshield-bag-studded

I went the opposite route. I got a Mustang seat and an Airhawk cushion, which gets me up enough to see above the windshield but low enough that I am still out of the wind. I am tall enough that I can still easily flatfoot when the bike isn’t moving.

Thank you, I can't find where I got the rack from, most things I have gotten, I found on Ebay, Amazon, Kawasaki website or googled it and found from online stores. All I can tell you is it is a small rack made for Kawasaki Vulcan 900. It is only rated to carry a few pounds. I mostly got it to put some small flag poles on.

The windshield can easily be cut down 3" to allow you to see over the top. Just put painters tape on both sides of the top 4" and mark the tape and cut it with a jig saw and then sand where you cut.
