I still miss the late great Will Lee/Mr. Harold Hooper to this day. He was our surrogate TV grandfather growing up. The loving patriarch of Sesame Street. Can't believe it's been 40 years ago this month that Mr. Lee passed.

I remembered this episode and glad it got posted. Thanks! I remembered there was a segment where Bob sang a song about drawing a face and he drew a face on his fist and made it talk. I hope that gets posted someday

You can actually see Mr. Zookeeper, i mean Hooper, getting in position to lie down before the camera goes off him when he slips

This is a rare moment we see Mr. Hooper without his glasses. And at 16:17, Lisa Simon was one of the assistant directors? Hmm, I guess she wanted to get into the director's chair that she would eventually in Season 13.

I'm watching this with a sling on my right arm too. On Festivus, I fell while crossing the street (which was in bad condition), and dislocated my shoulder.

Even though I didn't grow up watching Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street, I still tear up when I see Episode 1839. Besides, I watched a couple of classic episodes with him before I saw Episode 1839.

I was only 4 years when he passed, so my memories of seeing him back in the day are vague... The only time I got to see him was whenever they reran "Christmas Eve On Sesame Street", which was released on VHS as well... It wasn't until recent years that I really got to delve into his work on the show.

I was 4 in 1969...the first pre-schooler group to watch "Sesame Street". The only human characters were Bob, Gordon, Susan and Mr. Hooper.

Treble Gnocchi has been doing a tremendous job on his/her channel, uploading many many episodes uncut of their original broadcast, some of which have not been seen since their original broadcast 50 years ago. Of course, KZfaq has to block comments for adults.
