Thank you very much for sharing this great video. I started to collect these videos, I did not get this one, and now it is very rare due to being on VHS is all the more of a gem of a recording. Phil Kelsall once again in fine form at the Mighty Wurlitzer! Great stuff.

I had a copy of this many moons ago ,when films were on vhs super finale by Phil and the wonder Wurlitzer as it was once called!

I think you might have to go a long way to find an organist who shows more obvious joy in his work than Phil Kelsall. Richard Hills, maybe, but Phil is in a league all his own.

Phil is the number 1 " Blackpool style " organist no doubt but there are many more top international organists like Hector Olivera who is by far the best all round organist. By all round I mean Theatre, electronic and pipe organ ( church organ) . I've seen Phil on a Technics GA3 in concert and can honestly say he was a very basic. Youd not believe he could play like this on the Wurlitzer. Yes I know there's a big difference but if you listen to other organists on Electronics they blow Phil K away . Quite bizarre really 😊

Ik ben bang dat ik het er niet mee eens ben. Er is zeker geen upload van Phil Kelsall die Tiger rag speelt om de twee te vergelijken. Ik zal echter zeggen dat Phil Kelsall ongeëvenaard is in zijn vakgebied en speelstijl. In zijn 40+ jarige carrière als theaterorganist heeft hij meer dan 70 albums uitgebracht, evenals VHS- en dvd-opnames. Sommigen van hen hebben de klassieke albumcharts gehaald. Ik zeg dit zonder rekening te houden met Richard Hills, die ongetwijfeld een eersteklas organist van de hoogste orde is. Ik vind het gewoon niet interessant om de twee te vergelijken als ze allebei in heel verschillende stijlen spelen. Excuses als mijn Nederlandse taalvaardigheid slecht is, ik heb google translate gebruikt ...

@@OrganMusicYTThat's because you're into the "Blackpool style" of playing but I agree , Richard Hill is a far better concert organist than Phil Kelsall. Heard them both many times, Richard Hill is absolute genius. Phil plays Blackpool style on any organ and it doesn't work ik afraid. I have all the videos of Kelsall and he does pkay Tiger rag but its not a patch on Hills .
