I like that champagne gold color. I know it's going to be beautiful. That is hard work squeezing out that silicone. People think its easy but its not that easy. When your doing a resin piece like you are and it doesn't leak that is exciting because you don't want to have a leak. I just really like that color.

I loved your first placemat video so much, I bought several different types, but not this one. Now, looking at it, I think it would make a lovely poinsettia for Christmas, eh? And the "petals" on these plants are called brachts. Sort of a hybrid between petals and leaves. once again, stunning work, my dear! You are always an inspiration! ❤️

Hi, I like your 1st too. This is beautiful as well. Maybe if you put the mat under the plastic when your doing the silicone, when it's dry you can put the mat into it. I don't know if that is an idea that will work for you. Have a good day. Take care

Very pretty! Just a thought... maybe a pool noodle or similar foam tubing wrapped around the pan or form would hold the petals or any edge up that you want to form a gentle curve. Thank you again for sharing your creative projects and tips.

I love love love your channel. I think you're too hard on yourself. Your work is so gorgeous. I am the same way though. I am very picky to make my stuff perfect. I am going to do my very first pour tomorrow and excited. I am going to start out small with coasters. Please do more coaster pours. PS . I love seeing your animals and yard. The birds are awesome, my mom would love all those birds. She's the bird whisperer.

Very nice Julie, as always 💖.. You can use a bbq lighter to get rid of bubbles on these and it doesn't damage them. Next time if you manage to take the silicone off with the plastic (so that the silicone stays on the plastic). You would have a lovely mould, I've made a few moulds using this method. Also you can actually pull the placemat off the resin and leave just the imprint, just an idea 💖

Hi Julie, you amaze me. What you come up with is brilliant. I have an idea, how about putting small pieces of double sided tape on the tray. It will hold the plastic but you can pull it off when it is hardened. I’m definitely going to have a go at this, it’s gorgeous.

How about putting a large wooden embroidery ring around the inside edge to keep petals in place it’s beautiful x x

You could spray paint the reverse side gold to match. When I tried the first placemat that you did, I sprayed the back with spray adhesive and stuck it down to a silicone mat. I put a tray on it overnight to hold it down while these adhesive stuck. And I did each different little section like you did and when I peeled it off of the silicone mat everything stayed exactly where it was supposed to be I turned it into a Tiffany style lamp shade for my granddaughter.

Fantastic! Such a beautiful piece!! That video seemed to zoom by! I think this placemat would be perfect for a clock - it has 12 petals! It would be lovely as a clock. Then, you could color the leaves/petals because you would not see the back! I'd love to see you do it! The Resin Adventure continues! Thank you, Julie. Take care and stay safe!

I use alcohol to pop bubbles often, you need a super fine mist. the spray from the alcohol bottle spits out large heavier drops of alcohol that dent into the wet resin when they fall and dries slower because of it's size. A finer mist sprays more even and dries quicker because it's thinner and more evenly layered. you need a superfine mister or an air brush. Also, you could use a plastic bag (or multiple little bundles of plastic wrap) full of rice or pea gravel to weigh down the middle of your platter, anything bigger than rice or pea sized would leave too much texture. Also.. I wonder.. if using a spray adhesive on the back of the placemat so it sticks to the plastic, would keep it from getting bubbly or keep it from separating from the plastic and leaving waves... But regardless, it came out beautiful Julie! it reminds me of a drawing of the sun with the round center and thick rays!

My comment does not have anything to do well it does this is gorgeous but I just watched another video of yours and forgot to make a comment you had extra resin and had to go find something to use it with a mold I use all my extra resin in Snowflake molds and then I use those snowflakes to decorate the tree and the Garland at Christmas time just thought it would be a good idea you're always asking for ideas and I just love the stuff you do inspires me everyday to try new stuff

I’m sure you figured it out by now but the thing that you decant red wine into is called a decanter. Is it just me or is everyone struggling to find their vocabulary? It’s like no one seems to be able to find the right word. Love the new tray. Have to try it out myself. Definitely worth a little sleep deprivation. Take care and stay safe!

you could have traced the place mat onto paper and then put the paper under your clear plastic as a guide before silicon out line. That way your place mat wont stick to the silicon .

Maybe you could use those umbrella bags the stores offer up front, filled with wet sand and tied off at the ends. If it would be enough, Bendable, weight to keep the bottom flat and make it more usable. You could use them over ,& over on larger projects. You could even use them to hold the petals up evenly. What do you think?

Oh my gosh Julie. I hope you don't have to work in the morning my dear. Question if you wanted to put the leaves / petals up instead of down couldn't you paint the back of the placemat gold. So if you make it like the blue one? The gold one is beautiful. The Wine airorater.
