Since when is sales an indication of quality? Chevrolet sold between 187,000 and 431,000 Cavaliers every year in America from 1985 to 2004 and the car was an unsophisticated piece of junk. The single Achy Breaky Heart sold a million copies, does that make it a better song than the songs on Happy Pills? Do yourself a favour and go and listen to Candlebox's later albums. They have continued to make great music and sales have nothing to do with it.

Rarely does an artist sound better live than they do in the studio. THIS would be one of those rare moments. Honestly did not realize his vocal range until I saw this performance. Glad I was able to grow up with this stuff.
@Parrish_Muhoberac Жыл бұрын
The reason the vocal sounds better live than in the studio? is because he's almost a semitone under for most of the album. Hate to say that, as it's one of my favourite records. but i just put it into presonus studio one, extracted the vocal, boosted the pitch by around +17 cents, then put it back in. PERFECT. Can't believe the producer and record company allowed "YOU" especially, it to be released with the vocal almost a whole semitone flat in pitch. Great album, and one of my favourites, though.

Please do explain how these guys are pearl jam ripoffs. This guy sounds nothing like eddie vedder. So if any vocalist has an emotive style they're ripping off Pearl Jam? No fucking way. Is pearl jam the only band that uses loud to quiet dynamics? No. Pearl jam are the epitome of a band that frat boys listen to so they can look deep to impress girls. They're overrated IMO and versus was their only album worth listening to a second time. Who the fuck are any of us to criticize people for writing a song about their dead friend, and a very powerful song to boot.

Seeing him now is funny, he got old just like the rest of us, he's not a skinny pimple faced kid anymore, old guy with thick framed glasses but my man still sounds amazing, probably dropped down a couple keys or maybe not, he might still have close to the same range but I just can't get this image of these guys out of my head. They came on the tail end of the whole grunge movement but they had been in the trenches playing around Seattle for years, in fac he wrotet this song to honor the lead singer of Mother Lovebone. Still the best version on youtube. Really says something when the live version is better than the recorded one. This guy's voice gives me chills.

Back when music was full of emotion and feel. How did that go away. Why do we accept less now? :(

God back then we took it god granted. Little did anyone know the bands rolling out from the 80s and 90s were absolutely legendary as well as a great time to be alive.

My best friend died around the time this song came out and it reminds me of him every time I hear it.

Holy mother of God I never saw this back in the day. Few guys could/can sing with that power, rasp, range, and control! Very underrated band and singer to everyone except their fans.

I think Letterman had a real love for the grunge band rockers. He inducted Pearl Jam into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I never liked Letterman until I found this out.

One of the best voices of the 90’s, wish they would have put out more material. This entire album was killer.

I saw them in 1998 at a little bar in buckhead (Atlanta Georgia). Same night Chicago (Jordan) completed the 3 Pete. Small venue - like 100. I was in front. T.v. Behind them (small bar). They stopped the set to watch the end of the game, then rocked on for another 3 hours. One of the best nights of my life! Had no idea they were going to be there. I was, and still am a huge fan!
