I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Jordan Peterson for introducing me to the idea of this diet, and to his daughter Mikhaila Peterson for sharing her experience and laying the groundwork for this new way of living.
I made these videos to document my experience eating a diet called the “Lion Diet” as coined by Mikhaila Peterson. Lion Diet a strict version of the Carnivore diet that only allows for ruminant meat, salt, and water. I am not a nutrition expert, but I hope you find it enjoyable and informative.
This was one of the videos that inspired me to try this diet:

Proof’s in the pudding for real, that’s what I always say (in response to, there’s no scientific evidence that “such and such”)… Look, there’s not a bunch of science fairies running around testing every claim anyone ever makes. Plus, there’s no money in saying to get healthy you have to stop buying all this crap… one anecdote is anecdotal evidence. 1000s of anecdotes is strong evidence. Ultimately, proof is in the pudding

@@gabzsy4924 I use Redmond real salt crystals to make a jar of solé water (super saturated salt water) and add about an oz to nearly every liter of water or club soda I drink. It is not refined table salt. It’s from a natural ancient sea bed in Utah (read “not polluted by modern shipping vessels”) and contains natural trace minerals. It is not iodized, but iodized salt’s bioavailability of iodine is like 10%. Seafood provides plenty of iodine, and even land animals raised close to the ocean will contain iodine. I also had high blood pressure before beginning this way of eating, I no longer have HTN, and I am no longer on ANY medications. I was on three for BP, one for hormones, two for gut/stomach issues, and I spent at least a $250 a month on supplements. Now I take no meds and only the iodine supplement. You can count Re-Lyte (another Redmond product) as a supplement, but it’s mostly their salt with potassium and magnesium for balanced electrolytes. I pay about $21 a month for those so it’s a big change, and I’m in the best health of my life. Yes, my doctor agrees about my health, but won’t admit my diet is healthy. 🤷‍♂️

That's because they try to group us all together. Our bodies are very different, but they're not taught that. Most aren't capable of learning it on their own. Sadly there are those of us that are extremely different than average and we just have to figure it out on our own. They're not trying to hurt us in any way. They mean well. They've just been taught that what helps most, helps all and of course it's not true. I have a great doctor who actually listens to me and learns what I talk to him about. He now takes and suggests milk thistle to his other patients. If you don't know about milk thistle look it up. It's great stuff that most everyone should be taking

I've been doing keto more animal based no nuts or plant oils and carnivore for a year now. Went into it 240lbs with health problems and a bad future. Now it's been a year. I'm down 85lbs and I feel like a whole new person. I love exercise now because my body has so much energy all the time. I can taste natural sugars in food now that I couldn't before. I feel amazing and I'm never going back. I have my life back. Sleeps better, moods better, my periods came back, sex is better and life is just better. I always felt like I wanted to go down that better health way but I just couldn't find the road. All the signs out there pointed to the American diet and it just wasn't taking anyone anywhere. I found keto and carnivore and I'll never go back

I was so shocked at the sudden loss of cravings too! After just two days of eating nothing but meat and butter, I had zero cravings for anything sweet, like gummy bears or even chocolate. Even if you don't weigh yourself, you can literally see fat melting from your body. I sleep better, wake up with more energy, and feel my menopausal brain fog fading. I'll have my labs checked in June. Keep up the good work!

God bless you on your journey to better health. May I offer a couple pieces of advice? Give it more than two weeks. My intention was to do this for six weeks, now here I am 26 months later, and I still love eating this way. I’m in the best shape of my life. Also, take measurements rather than watching the scale. You can check your weight, but I would recommend not doing it more than once a month; it can be deceptive and cause you to get discouraged.

Agree with Freedom! I'd say give it at least 3 months. A week or two is not a very long time for your body to react to a new way of life. Stay away from weight scales and just figure out what your body needs. Sometimes I fast a few days and other times I will eat all day. Don't be strict on when or how much you eat, just let it be healthy food (read as MEAT !)

Male here 56 at 5‘11‘ and 260 pounds in May 2023 - doing keto and IF ever since - now 18. of September 23 I am at 222 pounds (101kg) My belly went from 124cm to 111cm so far, my Apple Watch strap has 7 holes, and I had the third hole for ages, then the fourth hole, and now I am going to the fifth hole - I thinking have to swap the strap with the holes for the one for smaller wrists (which comes with the watch). The point is: I only started weighing myself this week on a scale. I do OMAD with roughly 23 hours fasting, and I way myself around the hour 18/19 after a long walk with the dogs around 3pm/4pm every day. Today the scale showed for the first time, when I stepped on, 99.something kg and then settled at 100.7kg (it is digital). That is a big moment for me. However, my marker is the Meterband infuse to measure my waist at belly button height. My goal is under 100cm so 11cm to go. Scales are great for confirmation of your weight loss, but measuring your belly is giving you real results as intus not fluctuating like a scale. (You eat 400gr. of meat and drink two large glasses of water, and your weight goes up one kilo). Measurement of belly, wrist, thighs is giving you the real story!

Yes, I would think your cholesterol would drop after you lose weight and end your inflammation. The way it would likely work is your cholesterol would raise at the start, but then fall as your body is no longer in a state of... ripped apart by sugar, carbs, and things your allergic to. Cholesterol rushes in to heal inflamed arteries, it's not the bad guy that causes the issues. Yes, high cholesterol is a sign that you're sick, but your goal is not to get rid of what your body uses to help heal you, it's to get rid of what made you sick to start with. Then the cholesterol should reduce as you get better. Your doctor is surprised because he got fewer than 30 hours of education on nutrition. He knows what drugs lower cholesterol but never learned high cholesterol foods do not cause high cholesterol. He was also never encouraged to question if lowering the cholesterol is really the best solution or not when it comes to health.

I know what you mean about how unbelievable it is that cancer docs don’t mention a thing about diet. My oncologist 5 years ago never said a thing. And in fact when I’d go to chemo treatments they’d have a bunch of deluxe candy bars ready for the patients that day. It was I’m sure just wanting to offer comfort. But a bunch of excess glucose is not what cancer patients need since it feeds tumors

@@jennyeklov4190 Thank you so much Jenny for your kind words. In the past year I've settled into what I'd call "ketovore". I focus on grass fed beef as mostly a daily staple, then i use a few plant foods almost as a garnish. But really only a handful of plant foods i like for taste / texture such as olives, sauerkraut, some shrooms in omelets, and maybe some garlic. Every so often i like boiling fresh ginger with lemon to drink as healthy tea. I make beef broth often, using slow cooker on low setting for 24 hours works great. I really like eating this way, since meat is so nutrient dense and natural fats are / proteins are very satiating. And I'll admit that beer every month or two tastes glorious Good luck in your health journey and thanks again for reaching out
