125cc BIG WHEEL DRIFT TRIKE BUILD PROJECT

We had a fully automatic pit bike and as soon as my kid grew out of it, we decided to use the engine for this trike. Most of the stuff on this drift trike was custom made or modified. Here are some measurements of the frame;
Two main pipes that go from front fork are 60 inches long(152.5cm). They run parallel to each other and the distance between them is 8 inches(20.32cm). From the head tube (front fork) at 7 inch mark (17.78cm) made a 45 degree bend on both sides. From that point go down 22 inches(55.88cm) and make a 65 degree bend on both sides. Two other pipes that are on opposite side of each other are made for reinforcing the frame and to stand on them. each pipe is 26 inches long (66.04cm) and bent 45 degrees at around 9 inch(22.86cm) mark.
All these measurements are approximate and can be altered to your size and preference. This trike was made without any plans so if i could do it than you should be able to make one as well. Good luck.
Feel free to contact me for more info if the video was not clear enough. Thanks for checking out my video.

Very nice build! I too am building one, and using a steel tractor seat, (with custom pad and backrest) and a 125cc manual 4-sp engine (didn't come with electric start! Boo!) and I am also mounting the engine in the front frame, BUT, I am also mounting a 212cc Predator engine in the rear for a booster engine (when necessary) as this Trike will be a country back roads traveler, and will have larger trear wheels like a 4-wheeler in the back, and a large chopper style front multi-spoke wheel in the front! Yea OK so it's a kids Big Wheel on steroids! But hey I'm a 68 yr old kid, so what do ya expect! Vrooom-Vrooom-Vrooooom! Jus practicin'!

Bom dia, Estou montando um para dois lugares, para passear com minha filha. Gostaria da sua opinião, nesse caso é melhor por o motor na frente do quadro ou na traseira.

I love the fact it was a Father and Son project !! Neither of you will ever forget that quality time together. You did a good job Building it and it looks like it was a lot of fun to ride. I’m proud of you. I’m curious to know a total price of the project and I would like to know what brand of motor and wheels (parts breakdown) and where you purchased them at, I would like to duplicate the build with my son.
@balabay77
@balabay77 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark Indeed, it was a lot of fun building this project with my kid and I hope that in retrospect he will appreciate all the quality time we spent together on all of our builds. This particular drift trike came out really cheap for us because we owned a pit bike and a go kart. Yanked the motor from the pit bike and stole the axle with wheels from the go kart just to make this project. After we had our fun with this trike, we disassembled it and installed everything back on the pit bike and go kart. Things that we had to purchase are piping for the frame, seat, front tire, gas tank and exhaust pipe. Roughly speaking we spent around 200 for entire thing (not including child labor lol) To build something like this from scratch you’re looking to spend anywhere between $800 to $1500 depending on how fancy you want to make this thing. To be honest with you go karts are so much better in every category than this trike. Good luck with your project and let us know how it turns out. BTW engine we used is a 125cc SSR fully auto. Cheers.
