Okay, I have to say, the #1 reason I love Carlos and Cecil is how adult their relationship is and how much they grow. Cecil can be selfish and obsessive, and we actually love him for that because it makes him feel real and interesting. But he has to move beyond those flaws to have a good relationship with his husband and he DOES. I love that these two show that you don't have to be perfect to have a loving relationship--you just have to be open enough to grow and give the other person what they need, and learn to ask for what YOU need as well. Sorry, just overwhelmed with relief that things are okay with Carlos.

Cecil does not know how old he is: confirmed. Cecil does not know what he looks like (because of the whole mirrors thing): confirmed. Cecil and Carlos are two perfectly imperfect people who are relationship goals for most of us: We knew that already, but reconfirmed.

Cecil's obsessive attitude in his relationship, is unfortunately familiar to me. I feel terrible for him but it also kills me knowing how unhealthy it is. I just want our beautiful host to figure that out before something terrible comes of it. :(

Support Dat Ashe I think this episode was a bad example to follow. Cecil was freaking out about everything: important and unimportant. If someone's significant other is acting shady, avoiding calls, and won't tell you what's happening, it is NOT a good idea to end with, "haha, the problem was me all along," like Cecil did in this episode. That's ignoring reality in a bad way. And if you don't trust yourself when reality is not right, you can get into trouble. But, that's where friends are helpful. They can tell you if you're freaking out based on fear or fact

I think getting a counsellor involved is a great step for both of them. Cecil did say it was their 'first' session, which would hopefully imply more to come. Given that he's the Voice of Night Vale and has lived there all his life (however long that has been...) and that Carlos has obviously arrived in town with some baggage and then spent six years in places that specialise in creating more baggage it's natural that they're going to have issues that really should be addressed. I'm still playing catch-up, but I'm hoping to see that happen.

I have no idea what to expect from the next episode, because the trilogy is over but there's no conclusion to the vanishing ocean or any mention of the doors ajar. The only conclusion we got is that Cecil learned that sometimes, he needs to give Carlos some space and privacy. That's good and all, but there's still too many unanswered questions. I NEED TO KNOW!!!! (Also dat text 😏😏😏)

I swear way back in episode 19A when Kevin went into Cecil's studio he saw a picture of Cecil on the desk, but Cecil says here that he doesn't remember what he looks like cuz he doesn't look in mirrors. Why does Cecil not know what he looks like even though he does has a picture of himself on his desk?

I went to All Hail last night with my best friend (who'd never listened to WTNV before) and we both ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! One of my favourite events so far this year- even better than my 16th birthday party which is kinda sad lmao- and I can't believe I saw Cecil and Meg Bashwiner in real life!! It was so much fun!! ALL HAIL!!!!

This was something I needed to hear right now, funnily enough. I recently went through a really rough patch with my sister, and she hasn’t wanted physical affection or any kind of affection really, and it’s made me feel awful since I felt like it was my fault she didn’t want to hug me or say “I love you too”. But I realize maybe she just needs time to herself, maybe I don’t need to be so overbearing and constantly ask “why” when I know something is wrong.

Wait a second, Carlos has seen an invisible ocean before Night Vale? I think it's really good that they're seeing a councilor. Not that there's anything majorly wrong with either of them, but having a third party is often very helpful for situations like this. Have a great day :)

Tbh I'm a little disappointed in Cecil in this episode, mostly because we KNOW he knows better. He said it himself in episode 55 "The University of What it is": Listeners, I do not know everything about Carlos and he does not tell me everything. That is OK. We are not one person. How lonely that would be! A couple who has made themselves one so completely, that they are once again alone. We are two people, separate. Unique. And joined only where we choose to join.

I don't like the message of this episode. Cecil reacted appropriately to some seriously strange things. If your significant other is ducking calls, hiding things from you, and refuses to talk to you, that's some serious stuff. The way they ended with Cecil "being wrong" felt really uncomfortable to me. He was worrying about some silly things as well, but to tell him he was wrong for worrying about the real, serious problems, is gas lighting him. I don't feel good about listening to someone being gas lighted by their therapist and significant other.

I like that they're both able to admit that they need counselling. Something is going on with Carlos, and Cecil can be quite obsessive and has issues of his own. The fact that a single counselling session didn't fix everything was to me a pretty healthy portrayal. Carlos did explain that he was worrying about past events, but he still doesn't want to discuss them. That's a thing which needs to be worked on. Cecil's concerns are totally legitimate, but wanting to coerce your partner into telling you things they are obviously really uncomfortable disclosing is going a bit far, and also something which needs to be worked on. So I hope they do work on it.
