The epoxy color is what your customer wanted. That makes it perfect. You are the neatest epoxy mixer I’ve seen in a while - a good thing if you mix on a jointer!

Beautiful bench!!! I love the quilted maple - it’s amazing. And sealing the voids first, then adding the bubble -free epoxy adds to the 3D look. I’ve been away for quite a while, so it’s wonderful to watch your work and result. Michael’s bench turned out well, too. Please give my love to your family. ❤

Beautiful job James & family. I'm not a huge fan of epoxy projects either to an extent. When the project is mostly epoxy with some scraps of wood thrown in because "woodworking", I'm generally not a fan. I think that's lazy and uninspired. Projects where the epoxy is used as an accent or inlay can be quite breathtaking however. edit: I subscribed to Mike's channel, but no need to enter me in the drawing for the plans; I wouldn't be able to get to the project for a while so they'd be wasted on me. Still, I'm always happy to support an up and coming woodworking channel!

That is most likely the best grain pattern I have ever seen loved the dying trick to help bring it out. I have some 8/4 white oak on hand that I may use to make a outdoor bench. I went over and checked out Mike’s channel and was quite impressed so I subscribed to it.

James, I love the Maple bench. This is so beautiful and the box joints are really nice. I am not a fan of Epoxy but it looks nice in this project. Sorry to hear about your mom and so happy that you are taking good care of her dog. I am sure you both miss her very much.

oof, the grain in the top of the bench is just mind blowing! That 3d-effect is awesome, this is the kind of top every time you see it, you want to touch it! Can't say I care too much about the red epoxy, partly because it is too diluted, it sort of looks like strawberry jam... Maybe if it was a very bright opaque red, that would be different. I think I would have gone for a BlackTailStudios black epoxy. Really nice to have you guys put out a longer video again, I missed you!

Thats beautiful wood and looks great! I know that by the numbers the legs are very strong i would have dowels in the legs from the top and plugged them with the walnut just to add a little contrast. But thats just me and how i would do it.

@@PapaDan, it’s honestly not too heavy. Sculpting away a lot of the curves took off a lot of weight. I think it’s probably about 20-25 pounds.

I don't know ow if I would have gone with red, but it turned out pretty nice. And like they say, if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. And thanks for the lead on Mike's channel. I was kinda grumbling to myself about the lack of woodworking content in my feed, but I understand that when projects take a long time it's hard to create a ton of content so any time I find another good channel I'm happy to subscribe.

I just watched another video about a saw stop... GREAT technology... ABSOLUTELY the best saw on the market in terms of safety... I dislike the company and their business practices... I am looking forward to their patents expiring over the next couple years so that the technology can start expanding (and hopefully being improved upon) through the industry.

Thanks for coming up with a stylish simple design. It looks great! I have some of my own lumber to use for projects like this. I keep thinking I would like to make benches for each of my kids. This gives me another plan for them to choose from!
