I check the water amounts on my work table because I know it is level. I use a 150 ML syringe to get the water out when done. I can also double check the amount at that time. Another interesting video. L8R daze, from the Nevada Outback . . .

I do like it! Busy but still focused. I do see what you do not like with the gold background and my first thought had been to switch that area to blue. But..by the end of the video I don't think that would be good. I would try dark pink on the 2 outer parts, then a light pink & a blue on the 2 inner sections. That just might be fun to try. :)))

Julie, I had the same issue with a copper baking mat. I used my heat gun to get the wrinkles out.

I love some of ur molds. I wish I could but I’m in us and disabled on a fixed income. The little 4 heart one I hope to save up for. One day maybe. Your work is so beautiful. I want to learn to pour acrylic also. I’m not good at mixing the paints. I need to figure out the water abs the pouring medium all that.

Your way of using the mold makes perfect sense. Anything else could create a disaster.

Can't wait! Can't wait!! It's gorgeous already! Your way of using the mold is a much better way of pouring it. If you can see the ripples in the bottom when it is done, well, that's just a feature of the ocean!! I hope you chose the handles with the gold - they looked so pretty with the cream colored 'sand'. I think the longer handles are more elegant, as well. I was surprised that you had just gotten your first shot ... I had a third shot last week -- I'm older and I have an auto-immune disease. Also, there are way too many people here in the States who are refusing the vaccine. The Delta variant is terrible. If we can't stop Delta, I fear the next variant will be worse..... use your heat gun on low on the silicone mat. you want to 'melt' it in a sense, and if it's laying flat it will flatten the wrinkles! the sand has a 'banana pudding' color to it! neat! I think the color works both ways in this type of mold.. your way it looks like a body of water on land like a lake or pond, the other way I think it'd look like an archipelago into an ocean with endless water. you could use a transparent blue with lots of color and do it all in one pour, the depth would make it darker as you go. It's very interesting! I kind of like looking at it for some crazy reason! very nice!!

You are right about the how you fill the mold then flip it out. Did you notice that there are some thin spots on the thinnest layer of resin when you demolded it? I poured my first layer of blue for the first tier, waited a day then the next and so forth. When I went to move my tray, it started to bend where I had added resin where the water would go from it being warm. Did you notice that? Yours looks beautiful! I did mine with stones and water. Definitely have to try it your way! Your so talented!
