Great video. Your recordings are always so well done. Was that leftöver crack for the triads? Sounded like it buts it's been awhile since I've listened to them much. If not what was it? Edit: Nevermind, it's choking victim "5 finger discount", I constantly mix those two bands up. I'm curious, what sort of pick do you use when you play bass? I'm primarily a guitarist so when I do use a pick for bass I've used a Jazz III or just a basic fender medium, but the Jazz III always feels too small and I snap fender picks too easily. I don't use picks on bass a lot because I'm often playing other genres, but I'm curious to know what sort of pick you use because it sounds great.

@wolfdenband
@wolfdenband 3 жыл бұрын
use a metronome....and over many weeks slowly increase the speed....the main thing is consistancy/perfection, which means practicing this slow is far better than constantly trying your speed limit and play those notes shitty. Record what you do when it gets faster and listen how "perfect" you are or not. It could take you multiple months to get really fast and consistent. Every great guitarist will tell you that "practicing slow makes you fast." Start at 40 bpm which is good for a beginner......work your way up to 60bpm with 16th notes. Spider walking (1,2,3,4 fingers on 1,2,3,4 frets, then move up one fret) while you do this will also sync your hands. Best advice you ever got :D

Picking is so difficult to learn on bass. I'm finding silencing the other strings very hard when strumming..that's not an issue with finger playing which has challenges of its own
@SugarpillProd
@SugarpillProd Жыл бұрын
Yeah it can be tough when starting out, especially if you're more used to playing with your fingers. I'd recommend aiming for one string when you pick - rather than playing everything at once and relying on your other hand to mute the strings you're not fretting, like a guitarist would do. This will give you a much cleaner sound anyway, as bass strings are super thick, so it doesn't really sound good when you're hitting multiple strings at once, unless you're fretting a chord or something.

@SugarpillProd
@SugarpillProd 3 жыл бұрын
Well no, a triad isn't played at the same time like a chord is. With bass chords you can use any combination of notes to create them, whereas triads are just the root, the 3rd and the 5th every time.

The laws need to be changed regarding all this copyright bullshit. It's actually counterproductive because there have been loads of artists I've discovered just by learning a random riff on youtube and I'd buy their music because of it. Also, every single one of these big millionaire artists would have lent and copied cassettes and vinyls when they were starting out, but now it's wrong when someone else does it! It's like they're shutting the gate behind them.
