Kika, the jetsetter Shih Tzu dog is traveling again! She's flying in the cabin (as a carry on) on the longest flight she's ever taken: 13 hour long direct flight from San Francisco to Istanbul! In this video, you'll see how it is for a dog to be on a plane, to fly somewhere different. And did you know that Kika is actually from Turkey? Yes! She's going back to the motherland to connect with her roots :)

we limit her consumption a bit so that it's not hard on her bladder. Also there are multiple pet release stations at the airports. That helped us a lot. and agreed, shih tzus are great travelers. Sending you love!

I know there are multiple pet station but the flight was. Non stop so I was curious as I travelled with my Bozu but I always choose one stop instead of non stop . Thanks lots of love to Kika 🥰❤️

How strict is the airlines in terms or weight and pet carrier dimension? Also my pers vaccine with be 30th the day of flying counting the day vaccinated but technically is fully immunized after 28days.. do they check this strictly or is it ok as long as immunized and with health certificate?

there are potty stations inside most of the airports. Kika held her pee for 13-15 hours. We took her out on a long walk before the flight and gave her limited amounts of water during the flight

Hello🌸🌸 I have traveled intercontinental several times those flight times are around 12~14 hours with my dog Santa 3kg mix breed as a Pet in a Cabin like you and Kika🌈 But on my previous trip, I was rejected onboard due to the head of my dog toughed the top cover. That flight was only 90 minutes from Furankfult to Viena. Even though that carrier was the same one that I always use. Have you ever experienced like me?

I am planning to fly via Turkish with my catto, (over 24 hours with a 9 hr layover in Istanbul) im trying to buy a suitable carrier for him- my question is , is Turkish very strict on carrier dimensions? i have a carrier thats 44 cm long, but requirement says 40 cms L is max.... can you shed some light on this? ive no one to ask then came across ur vid

Beautiful video. I am so confused though. We want to bring our dog a shih tsu on an eight to ten hour flight but we have read bad articles and good articles about the safety on the dog because of its' nose. Any other shih tzu parent travellers?

I think that's only an issue if the dog is traveling as "cargo". If in-cabin, not much of an issue with the nose.

hi there, yes they weigh your dog with the bag at the airport. Sometimes, they see that it’s a small dog and they don’t weigh. It really depends on the airline and the person who is doing your check in. It would be smart to choose a bag that’s light :)

Merhaba, ucus gunu sabah erken bir kahvalti ile gune basliyoruz. Kika normal gidasini ve icecegini aliyor. sonrasinda uzun bir yuruyus yapiyoruz ki iyice enerjisini harcasin, ucakta rahatca uyuyabilsin diye. Havaalanina geldigimizde havaalanina girmeden gene cisini yaptiriyoruz. Havaalaninda da pet relief yerleri var kopekler icin. Ucus sirasinda da cok az su iciriyoruz, terletmemeye calisiyoruz onu ki su ihtiyaci az olsun diye. Az gida ve az su ile ucusunu rahatca tamamliyoruz. Ucaktan iner inmez gene bulundugumuz havaalaninda pet relief odasina goturuyoruz ve boyle rahat bir yolculuk tamamlamis oluyoruz :)
