🇲🇾 13 hours in Kuala Lumpur!

Before we could get to Thailand, we had to rebook a ticket that would require a 13-hour layover in KLIA2 as our initial flight was cancelled. Since the pandemic situation, we weren't certain that getting out of the airport on transit was possible. However, we knew we were not just staying in an airport, took the chance and prepped all requirements that we should need to get out:
Passport
Mysejathera App (filled out and submitted at least a few days before the flight)
Vaccination certificate (fully vaccinated individuals no longer require quarantine and RTPCR test)
*Note that requirements are subject to change often
Suprisingly, the immigration process in KLIA2 was pretty smooth and quick, and they barely asked questions (it could be that we were only in layover so it could be different if you're final journey it to Malaysia) - so yes, we got to see a few of tourist destinations in Kuala Lumpur!
So here's our quick street life in KL and some things you will need to know, transportation, food, prices and whatnot!

Actually there's a covered walkwalk from KLCC to Bukit Bintang, a good 10-15min walk. Could have save up the 25 for more food. And going back to KLIA from KL sentral, if you have time to kill, take the bus from KL sentral it's much cheaper.

You can walk from KLCC to Bukit Bintang by Skywalk only 15 minute .very near don’t need take Taxi.

you can explore more in Malaysia. unfortunately you’re both spend only 13 hours in Malaysia. that’s not even 20% of KL actually. taxi in Malaysia is quite expensive though. we (Malaysian) often use the public transports / grab while in KL.

Do you guys know about the FREE (GO KL) city bus services in Kuala Lumpur ?? for example : from Petronas Towers KLCC to Bukit Bintang / Pavilion Shopping centre

Just knew now! We actually went to KL empty handed and wanted see how it goes 😅 But we were able to ride that free train from KL Sentral to KLCC 😄

Hi, just wondering wala po ba kayong hotel booking when you exited the airport? Ok lang po ba yun? Coz I have a layover in KL din po next month and planning to go see Petronas lang and have a quick meal before going back to the airport. So, no hotel booking po ako.

Did you use GRAB? Taxis are rare in KL now because people who want to take a taxi use Grab.

I see. We used taxi and the fare was MYR 25. Will definitely use grab when we come back! Thanks for the info 😊

Hey did you apply to any Visa for Malaysia prior to visiting during your layover time? I have booked a flight and have 9 hours of layover, but I can’t find anywhere if I can go out of the airport or not.

Hi! We weren’t also certain that we could get out but prepped the requirements needed at that time - mysejethera app and travel docs - since this was on June, requirements might have changed :) I guess they pretty much allow you to go out even when you’re on layover
