Kristoff was not the first black actor on YandR by any means. But probably the most popular which is well deserved.

Kristoff was not the first African American on the show. Drucilla Barber, then Winters was on nearly a year before him and I'm sure Maime was on before her. This channel is always making mistakes on history of the show.

Marguerite Ray, Stephanie Williams, & Jon St. Elwood were the first black characters on Y&R .

Michelle Stafford isn't a recast, she's the original Phyllis, they won't Neil because Kristoff St' John who played Neil died for real last year and then his character was killed off
