Situation on the ground is the same. Many anti national jihadis are being appeased by Modi govt through Lt Governor. Muftis and Abdullas who destroyed Kashmir and are responsible for multiple scams like Roshni act haven't been touched. Jammu has been completely neglected by Modi govt and there is a lot of anger there against Modi govt. BJP will struggle to retain Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats next year.

Assuming a tourist spends average Rs. 5000 in Kashmir, the business works out to 2x5000, i.e. Rupees 10,000 crores. That is a big boost to the employment in Kashmir.

Any excess is bad. Previously it was difficult but too many tourists create other problems unless there are facilities. Surely there are not. Manage tourism. Just because many are dependent on it does not make it attractive and safe. Natural beauty of Kashmir must not be spoiled by excess tourism.

Hmmm. We don't have numbers for 2022 yet, so assuming we get them in 2024, then we should get 2023 numbers by 2025. For sure we will know by then if records were broken. 2020 was the start of corona, so 18 million is pretty good, and 2022 should have been better at approximately 18.8million, and 2023 should be better as corona is finished for the full year. Not sure if G20 made a difference as it will take a couple of years to be sure. Good for the people of j&k who have suffered a lot these past 10 years
