Calvin played a great defensive match. He did a good job keeping login at bay. This could not have been easy Login definitely looks like he weighs a bit more

Lockport had the better wrestler. Mister Midwest, do you know if there was a struggle to integrate wrestling? As in whites not being comfortable in wrestling Blacks? I know there was a problem integrating swim pools and probably swim matches, but wrestling? Was this a problem too?

I don't know the answer to the question, but I did find this archived article from 1973: www.nytimes.com/1973/04/08/archives/racism-is-chargedin-wrestling-some-scattered-instances.html

Not sure if this was simply a history question or not, but I can give you some feedback from an American point of view. I come from both Mexican and German ancestors, my wife Italian and Polish. And 100% Pure American! Our son has wrestled both American and International Wrestlers, and I can tell you he has no problem wrestling and beating any Wrestler, regardless of color or country of origin. Now I don't pretend to speak for all Wrestlers, or even all Wrestling Families, but from our point of view, if you are man enough to get on the mat, you have our respect, win lose or draw. One can definitely lose that respect for sure, but never based off of color. Just one family's opinion.
