Morning James. A double episode 👍🏻 Its like a Netflix series link lol 😆 The inside is looking really good. Proper cooking is coming 😋 Like me in my lorry as I had a cheese omelette for my T last night 🤣 Take care buddy. Cheers Stevie.
@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt3 жыл бұрын
Do you have a fixed stove in your lorry or is it a camping stove. I think your lorry would have a webasto diesel heater too!
@TheDaf95xf3 жыл бұрын
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt hi James. Yes a camping stove and a lovely diesel heater 😆 I’m only using my stove because of lock down otherwise I’d be out and about for a hot meal 👍🏻

Such a joy to see coming along, I will be both happy and sad to see it completed I think as I've learned and enjoyed watching you create this and the diy aspect is brilliant for me personally. I hope 1 day I get to sit on my own narrowboat after emptying it and going through your videos 1 by 1 and following you myself. Enjoy your biscuits this evening with your brew and until tomorrow chap...stay safe

Looking great James. I don’t know if you can spray paint your aluminum window frames or not. I’ve done it with items that I don’t like the colour of or just to make them unique to me. My combo is a light bronze with a very light random dusting spay of copper, makes it look like mica , you could do it in black to match the stove or silver to match the aluminium. Probably a warmer weather thing.

Mmmmh I was looking at the port side by the cooker. What about some little drawers under the gunwales? That would solve the lines not being level? It will give you more storage space in the galley.

Looking much better and more homely now is the interior. Regarding the dinette's design, have a look at a recent Well Deck Diaries vlog to see their boat tour. The rear seats on their dinette are reversable to provide extra saloon seating. Might be a option for you. Good luck there.
@PK_Blinder3 жыл бұрын
Looking good and coming together nicely. With reference just go to any calor dealer and pay the extra for the "rental" of the bottle and get the bottle size you need. Otherwise just look on Ebay or local selling pages and get any calor bottle. You dont need to return the same size bottle as you want.

Your doing a great job, but cant understand you dont finish a job then forget about it. and start on the next fitting still crack on be nice to see the end as im sure you will be and enjoy the cut
@zenzeypher3 жыл бұрын
Heh. I think every bit of putty filler I've applied has cracked with how much my boat shifts and expands, with the steel it pulls the wood every which way. Be interesting to see how it holds up I use beading or trim now to hide the joins now. I used 6mm oak faced ply for mine. Looks good, nice to see her coming along.
@earlelf31423 жыл бұрын
For the window trim. resin mixed with Qsail. witch is micro-glass bubbles, makes a water proof filler. like glazing paddy for glass pains in wooden frame
@sarkybugger50093 жыл бұрын

I think I might have 2 x13kg calor bottles with gas if you are Interested Lawrence
@gigiososki52133 жыл бұрын
You can just buy a full bottle of gas instead of trying to find an empty one. We got ours from a garage if you can't find anywhere on the cut willing to sell you one
@chriscox40233 жыл бұрын
You buy a full gas bottle and when you replace it you only pay for the gas
@Daves_classics3 жыл бұрын
Wow, you certainly don't hang about, You are doing a good job, hopefully the gas man don't let you down. have you made up your mind on the outside colour ?
@claire44863 жыл бұрын
Used to live in a village shop that sold gas. You just pay a higher price if you're not returning a bottle.
@stephaniewilson39553 жыл бұрын
I thought you could buy a full gas bottle, you just have to pay extra for the bottle. At least, that is the way it used to operate.
@mrp19253 жыл бұрын
I would agree with this, you just pay a premium on the first bottle(s) and then exchange subsequent ones. You bottle (colour) just needs to match your gas requirements and type of regulator.

One concern I have and I'm sure you thought of, is capturing the windows thus having to tear out the framing (& walls) around them for repair or to install better windows? In short; are those windows removable from the outside? ;-)

We had the same issue last summer and just bought 2 empties on FB (for £10 I think). It was actually a godsend and ended up significantly cheaper than starting with new, full ones as you don’t pay the new ‘deposit’.

How come no narrow boat seem to use double layered insulated glass windows? I mean, if insulation and retaining heat is so important.
@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt3 жыл бұрын
I think some have double glazing but it’s hugely expensive.
@nobblynobody3 жыл бұрын
New builds do, retrofitting is overly expensive. Apparently condensation is still an issue regardless, depending on heat source etc.
