Small suggestion, if you have extra resin sand, you could've used it in your little heart mold with a starfish. Would make a very cute necklace.

I was thinking the same, use the left over sand in the heart, I didn't think about the necklace part but that is a great idea

With that heart in the centre it seemed wasteful to not use it with the left over sand etc. I'm thinking it would be helpful to have spare molds on hand to tip excess into for random pieces.

That mold would be great as dragon's skin.. With metallic colors blue, green, little gold, Or reds, orange, yellow. Love love ❤❤😊🌺 this idea and mold choice! Your videos are amazing. Beautiful coasters.!

So, here's my two cents...the foam does go onto the sand in real life. Instead of cutting the foam to conform to the edge of the sand, cut it irregularly, making some go onto the sand, and some not quit reaching the sand. Organic edge.

This idea is really beautiful. What you could do, to make it easier is use a small blade to cut the white bubble layer, so that you don't have any half bubble bits along the sand. If you did this, it would look more planned, and you wouldn't have to cover the edge with sand to soften it.

But it's seafoam.. so those little bubbles actually add to the sea foam effect. Great job Julie! And that's the problem with resin . To many ideas not enough time and space lol

Julie may I suggest you reverse engineer them so you don’t have the edging… but in two stages… and in thin layers and wait to do the colors of water till last with the clear. A reverse canvas. And then do a 2nd layer of sand to hide the bubble line. It’s what I do when I use my bubbles. Mine isn’t as bug as yours. Wish I had it that big. But try it again and see if it works. In other words do top layer first with a thin layer of sand and then do the colored water and thin layer of sand. It will sandwich the bubbles. That way you can control the size and shaping of sand as well. Maybe add some mini rock along edging to help shape it and hide it. Example mother of Pearl mix in a separate mix of sand on edge to form edge like on a rocky beach line. Both on bottom and top layer of reverse layers. I tend to reverse engineer my projects and when I paint the little pictures I do the same. I think backwards.

love em! you could use a card to wipe off the excess resin. you could also make the white a little transparent so it looks like true bubbles when it hits the wet new resin. Or.. put them down on the blended colors first then put your sand/shells on top of them.. then top coat! so many options! my head's a spinnin! Ooh! if you do gold bubbles do a sunset color scheme beneath it! so gold on pinks/orange/yellow!

Absolutely love them. I’m amazed at how your creative mind works. I personally would leave the outside bare without the rim like you do with you Druzy moulds, it would save having to cut them. I have a birthday in early February so I do think these will be on my list when hubby asks what would I like. Thank you Julie, I appreciate your time and effort to give inspiration to everyone. 🥂 I have just ordered 2, getting in before they sell out.

The final result is very nice. I thought when I saw some other items like this that the foam was the result of some kind of additive like floetrol. A question... would it be easier to start by cutting the seafood bubble layer 1st and place it in the mold before pouring/placing the sand section, then remove it to pour your colored resin layers and return the seafoam after? I also wondered what effect you might have if the seafoam bubbles were just a band along the sand rather than covering all of the water? Thank you for your extensive videos. You're a pleasure to watch and listen to.

When you first started doing resin I watched because your enthusiasm is catching and I loved all the things you made. Then I had to try it. Then another, and another, then I started doing all kinds of stuff with it. I even made coasters and cut them into shapes before gluing them to a flower pot to do a mosaic look with resin pieces. I’m sorta sold on resin now. So thank you for sharing and honestly I love to watch you create. I like the steps and others can indeed fast forward, because it’s so relaxing to just be there as your create.

I love this. I'd trim the foam so that there are only full circles on the sane edge. Maybe with finger nail clippers, or small wire cutters for the little bits that stick out. Bubbles would be on the top of the sand so covering the edge with more sand doesn't make sense to me. My birthday is today, and hubby bought rib eye steaks... So ill have to wait to order the molds, but they are on my list.

Utterly and completely lovely! The little air bubbles inside the bubbles are so adorable! For a beach scene, I would leave them there! I miss the beach so - haven't been since before Covid .... My thought about another use for the bubbles, "paint" with iridescent powder and fill with black resin... then use it in a coaster. For anyone wondering about the silicone brushes Julie used, look for Silicone Face Mask Brushes. I just bought some for a girls' night. Really cheap in US, if you buy in bulk. Thank you, Julie!
