One thing I learned about going to load up a trailer with anything whether it be rock, mulch, or dirt.... always have a shovel and a rake

Also, on good ole amazon there is a solar charger for batteries, mounts right to the top of the battery case and charges your dump trailer battery

I have a #2 welding cable ran to the back of my truck. Then same cable runs to the battery on my Dump Trailer. I plug this in and it charges the battery while I run. Plus keeps full power to the unit when dumping. Also have a Solar charger from Harbor Freight hooked up all the time also. Keeps the battery up when it sits for months at a time. Sure glad my 400 Tons of gravel did not cost me near as much as it does there. But then again were 22 miles from the pit. I hauled that 400 tons 10 tons at a time last year.

I ran cables the length of my truck with forklift plugs on it, one of the best things ive done for my dump trailers. Also cut a pair of jumper cables and added a set of plugs to them, and I run the winch on my equipment trailer off the cables. Pretty handy

Hey Ben this is John from CT. If you have a harbor freight near you buy a solar panel to clip on your trailer when it sits to keep your battery charged.

Cheers Ben Here in Oz I use a battery powered winch to lift firewood rounds .Hooked up heavy cable to battery of Nissan ute and ran it through an ANDERSON PLUG (quick connection ) to battery in back of ute to winch .As you drive you are charging both batteries and if you really need to leave diesel ute running to charge as you lift using winch ..Works for me .. Keep up the vids .Love your laugh ..HA Ha ..Jim

Isn’t it amazing, your dump trailer sits around for a while and then next thing ya know your running the wheels off of it. I ran heavy wire from. the front to the back of my pickup and then put quick connections on it. Look for winch quick connectors, also forklifts and welders.

One guy that would bring gravel in a dump truck told me if one ton of gravel cost $50.00 he would charge $100.00 for the gravel and son muck a mile. I guess he would make out. But if it someone you know I guess you take it easy on them.

I was thinking of getting a dump trailer, not sure if a 5 ton one will be good enough. What are your thoughts on this? Will I be able to do jobs like this with a 5 ton dump trailer? Thanks

That gravel is pretty pricey....scary it's two years ago...wonder how much it went up now a days. still it's not a bad little deal.

People always ask about the cost of your time, but I've always figured that if you have a regular job and this is on a day where you aren't working, it was free time anyway. Now get back to the kitchen remodel before the wife gets pissed.

While I don't know the exact details. If it was me I would get them to deal with the gravel supplier and you just charge for what you do. If someone is a slow payer could you be left with a bill and out of pocket?

@scavuman
@scavuman 3 жыл бұрын
@@survivingcountrylife7069 They looked nice, I drive on gravel Forest service roads here on the west coast of Van Isl. BC, and find that the mud terrain tires work best, as other tires such as All Terrains will pick up and hold the smaller stones that sometimes have sharp edges, eventually working their way into the tires causing flats.

@@scavuman these work good for me. They tend to be rock throwers when their brand new and cause rock chips on paint but otherwise they're good

You could charge $300. Then if you have to use the bobcat do $100 and hour or $600 per day. The $300 is only if you have to use the trailer for anything
