Great review. My only problem with the all IN is every time I get a new phone. I have to re-purchase the phone case which means I am spending the same amount of money again. I would rather move a metal plate from one case to another.

I went with Magview. The proprietary phone case is a money grab and with new phones coming out every other day, It doesn’t make sense to get a brand that you have to buy a specific case. With Magview, it’s buy once, cry once. Also, I haven’t had a single issue lining up the phone to the spotting scope. The app has the the grid that takes all the guess work out of it and it’s just as fast. It was clearly a biased review of the products. I felt you downplayed Magview a bit, which isn’t apparent until you did the Olin review. Lastly, it would have been a great review either way had you field tested it. One comment was, “23 minute video and no video” I think he meant that you showed us the product but you really didn’t show us the product. Thanks for the vid though.

Also, a lot has changed in the year since I’ve done the video and I know they’ve done updates to magview. I used them both in the field and Ollin fits my needs better but again, they’re definitely both great for different reasons and going magview is great if that works better for you 🙌🏻

I initially bought the Magview setup, which was easy to install but horrible at aligning the camera. I fought with acquiring the picture on the spotter and immediately returned it. I then ordered the Ollin system, which my son runs on his spotter, and have to say I love it. I do wish the case would allow the use of the zoom lense on my Samsung 23 Ultra. Maybe the next inderation will accommodate this cameras on the phone? The magview is not user friendly in my opinion!

Ended up going with the Magview so I can give my hunting partner a plate for their phone and now either of us can use the S1.

The magview is a pain to line up camera in my opinion. When I got the magview I quickly figured out I wish I had a ring of some sort that automatically lined up camera quickly. Ollin seems to be better in that aspect. Just my opinion

I’m searching for a Digi scoping option for my Alaska hunt this year and I am considering these as contenders. When I use my scope by hand I disable the Macro on the screen and it lines up great. Try it out next time you line up the magview.

The two case con on magview is incorrect now. They do offer a plate thar can be used for charging also.

I appreciate the feedback. There have definitely been updates to both systems and this video being over a year ago I was working with what I had at that time.

Helpful video. Ollin looks slick, except that they will likely never make a case for my Android phone, and they did make a case their mount looks like it would block the use of my other lenses which is a deal breaker. I don't love that you have to align the magview every time, but besides that it will work a lot better for me.

Definitely. I understand that you don't want to block to other lenses or that it may not be made for your phone right now. That is why I wanted to review both and give people options.

I run a waterproof hummix case, hence the Magview is the obvious choice. There’s no way I’m switching to a case that exposes my $1,200 iPhone to the elements on a hunt, when I can use the Magview and have the best of both worlds. Just my two cents as an avid hunter.

Great review man. I had to use electrical tape,on my eye piece to stop cell from rotating, floating down, from the weight and not staying inline with camera.

Have you tried mounting the ollin case onto the b1 bino adapter? I'm curious if the rings would align and work to get the ollin onto Binos?

Great idea but they don’t work off the same magnets so it won’t line up. But I like your thinking. Ollin will be coming out with the bino adapter

Great review! I love that you bring up with the iPhone getting close and it switches cameras. It goes to a micro lens option for close detail shots. Do you know if you zoom in a bit if that eliminates it from switching?

That I’m not sure. But the Ollin system doesn’t have that issue since it only allows one camera to focus

Great video and review of both products! Let’s say you have a iPhone 12, it breaks and you need a new one so you get a iPhone 14. Will Olin exchange cases or do you need to buy a new case that matches the new phone you have?

Personally I like my Magview more. I think you may have missed the simplicity of ALWAYS having a magnet on your case and always having a small magnet on the bino. Is it perfect? No, I have used it a lot and have learned to attach fast and with ease but it does have its struggle. The other thing I don’t necessarily like about Ollin is how it comes across that they “buy” their reviews. The pay influencers such as yourself to push their product for a percentage of sales. Again, it’s fair but I don’t really agree with.

I appreciate the comment. That’s the beauty of the options is that for some one works better than the other. There have also been updates to both platforms since I did this review over a year ago. As far as being paid… I was sent both of them and at the time of this video hadn’t partnered with either or received any sort of payment. I choose the companies I work with after using the product.

I was wanting to do a similar review, but ollin doesn't offer anything yet for my phone or spotting scope. There are things that I like about both products. I like the universal nature of the magview, but I am not thrilled with having to align the phone every time you connect. Ollin I love that it is quick and easy to line up but phone specific and bino/spoter specific, which can be problematic.

@@redbeard_outdoors I have an Athlon spotting scope and I just had to get a new phone. I've used the universal phone skope attachment for a few years because I hated having to buy new cases anytime I changed out phones, and I don't spend 1000 dollars on the newest top of the line phone, so often my phone doesn't end up with a supporting case anyway. Currently I'm using the galaxy a53 5g.

Both are driven towards iPhone, and the mv sucks with android. Magview app sucks as well. Trying to keep phone aligned is miserable, and the app doesn't lock camera lens selection. When zooming the view is blurry and pulls you sight of view out of center of the optic.

Great video, lining up the Magview does suck, but using their Magview app eliminates the camera switching. Have you tried it? Imo, both products can be better 😭

I agree that neither are perfect and yes the app is definitely something I didn't discuss in the review but I did try out. I still preferred the Ollin over the magview for the mentioned reasons. I am stoked to see where Ollin takes their product as well.

With the Ollin, can you still use the other cameras for regular photos and such or do you need to remove the case?

The case blocks the other cameras to so focuses on the right one. If you need to zoom in a lot then you’d need to remove the case

I definitely understand and I had a similar issue with my iPhone, that’s why I went with the Ollin system. I like the quick ability to align the right camera with the scope. Magview might have some instructions to help but I’m not sure because I don’t use their system.

The thing about newer iPhones…..they have friggin MagSafe. Why the hell wouldn’t they just make an iPhone version that’s compatible with that? Seems like a no brainer to me

Good review, but i feel like you missed a couple of key things .... When you talk about your camera switching with the magview its litterly a setting in your phone that turns off "focus enhancer", thats user error. As for wireless charging, magview solved that problem, and now you can use one case ... also a huge feature is anyone with a metal plate can throw their phone on the scope and get footage ... and the metal plates are cheap !! Yes, ollin is still a tad faster, but the fact that every time you get a new phone, you have to buy another new case is absolutely a money grab !!! You can't share it with your friends unless they have the product already. And they Ollin is more expensive off the bat as well as every time you need a new case But overall, it is a good review 👌

Definitely appreciate the feedback and great point about the focus enhancer. Definitely mentioned that the focusing was more than likely user error and could be better with practice but didn’t mention the feature of turning the camera off

What is the weight difference of the entire systems? Magnets are heavy and neither company list weights!!!

Here is what I measured out: Ollin w/iPhone 13 plus case: 4.3oz Magview w/o case: 3.7oz for spotter, 1oz for bino adapter W/ generic case 3.4oz for bino adapter, 5.6oz for spotter

How does the Ollin scope adapter mount to the scope? You showed how the magview has a set screw, but I didn’t see how the ollin attaches. Is it also an Allen set screw?

It is a tension fit. That is why they ask your specific spotting scope so it fits right.

I've been torn between these 2. Thanks for the review. One of my main hang backs on Ollin is I'm worried about if the part you put on the eye piece will interfere with using the eye piece direct to my eye. Any feedback on that?
