14 Grunters and 1 Kabeljou in one session fishing the magical Breede River in Witsand South Africa. The main idea was to catch a 30 - 40kg Kabeljou with some of the best fisherman in South Africa being on the water for the weekend.
Everything was perfect for fishing. We have waited for months to fish for the big kob as we had loads of floods and the water in the Breede was to fresh for that big fish to come in to the estuary.
But the kabeljou did not want to bite. After 2 days of hard fishing we decided to switch over to grunter fishing and that is where the fun started landing 14 grunters in one day.

That place is probably one of my favorite spots for Grunter and some really large Grunter are to be found in that river system. Thanks for an awesome video once again, Blommie.

@Bloudam I used to spend weeks there at a time and just around the corner from groen punt is one of my favorite Grunter spots in S.A

Ek stem palm tyers is goed het altyd daar my tyers gedoen toe ek nog in george was,nou is ek in swellendam. Gee biekie n spot weg vir ons mnne wat van kant af hengel,ken nie witsand so goed nie maar is al waar ek nou hengel het nognie n grunter gekry nie. Het 1dag by oom Giellie gaan hengel toe kry ek darem 2 kabbeljoutjies😂

Nice outing...the weather is just part of the experience...the fish you catch far outweighs the weather!....so did you copy a fine for the occys? Or a slap on the wrist!
