The first thing Snape asks Harry is “Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?” According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and wormwood means ‘absence’ and also typically symbolized bitter sorrow. They did a fantastic job with casting him as Professor Snape. Literally PERFECT. In my opinion other then Alan Rickman as Snape, it was Maggie Smith whole played Professor McGonagall who was also perfect for the role as well. Rip Alan Rickman though💔 can't believe it will almost be a year :(

Honestly his last line "You have your mother's eyes." is so heartbreaking.That's when you truly realize just how much he loved Lily. All the things he did from betraying Voldemort and risking his life to warn Dumbledore about the Potters to to protecting Harry over the years, despite still being an arse at times, was all for Lily. Oml my heart. Alan Rickman played his character well. Rest in peace Alan Rickman....

I hated that part of the movie. In the book, it was made clear that Snape DID have an idea and he took Harry's clue and alerted the rest of the Order to go to the Ministry of Magic. That's how they all miraculously showed up. I get that the movies had to be condensed, but man, they sometimes left out the most important things.

I was kind of her back in school (always waving around my hand to answer questions in my favourite subjects) until the teacher was fed up and never choose me as he knew I know the answer and he wanted other to think. I once also almost spoke without being choosen and got reprimanded. He was my favourite teacher and still is, but I learned my lesson and only put my hand up when the question was really interesting.

Actually, if the clip played just a little longer for when he dies, the last thing he says under his breath ( although you have to turn up the volume to hear it and strain your ears) is “ I love you.”

A lot of the Harry Potter movies give us insight into a lot of the wizarding world, but Snape's story remained a little mysterious, it wasn't until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 when Snape's personal story, and why he had something of a connection with Harry(maybe not directly)start to make sense, but in that movie, what got me was when we learned Harry was a horcrux.

I'm still having goosebumps watching the two last ones. I know everything by heart. I'm struggling with the fears. Gosh Alan Rickman was the perfect Snape... This character was magnificent, this role was his. And these scenes are still heartbreaking.

I never noticed that he stuttered when he said that Dumbledore was traveling! You can actually see him almost slip up and tell Harry where Dumbledore really is
