Do you love cats but have an allergic reaction to them? The good news is that there are several semi-hypoallergenic cats out there. Some cat breeds have less fur and shed less than others, that's why they are considered to be semi-hypoallergenic cat breeds for people with cat allergies.
With regular cleaning and vacuuming, some owners claim that these semi-hypoallergenic cats won’t produce as many allergy symptoms if any at all. In this video, we'll review the top 14 semi-hypoallergenic cat breeds for people with cat allergies!

Glad we could help! The Havana Brown doesn't shed as much as some other cat breeds, however, they aren't classified as hypoallergenic. While no cat is truly 100% hypoallergenic, the breeds discussed in this video come the closest.

So they’re not completely free from allergens? I want a Siamese cat but I’m worried I’ll get one and then get sick and have to give him away.

No cat will be 100% hypoallergenic. But some cat breeds and individual cats do have less allergens than others. We'd suggest meeting that cat that you're interested in and see how you feel after spending some time with them before you make a decision.

I fostered kittens for a while over the pandemic, and even some of the mixed breeds I found wouldn't trigger my allergies. The protein we are allergic to, FEL D 1, is usually less prevalent in lighter colored cats and females. I've found the American shorthair to be the worst, and surprisingly long haired cats tend to do better for me. When you're interacting with the cat and deciding to adopt, what I did for my cat was literally held her up to my face to see how much she bothered me. It was basically if I touched her and then touched my eyes it would trigger them but besides that I was fine.

We would love a Russian Blue, is it possible that a Russian Blue can roam outside independently as well as being indoors as much as they want? We live in a rural area. Mainly fields, a couple house and one road. We need a hypoallergenic cat as we have family with allergies. We also have children.

Servals, and most other wild animals, tend to not make the best domestic pets. This video focuses on domestic cat breeds that can be kept as pets without much problems. Big cats are very territorial which could make them aggressive in certain situations, they tend to spray urine to mark their territory a lot and it's usually illegal to keep wild animals as pets without the correct conservation permit. But yes, they can be considered to be somewhat hypoallergenic. 🐈

@@CatsterOfficial Wildcats will form deep, permanent bonds, with humans. But you should seriously consider what you're getting in to, before acquiring one. They will rip up any upholstered furniture you may have. They spray, to mark their territory, like smaller cats do, but the VOLUME is much larger. If you get one then decide you can't handle the situation, and give the cat away, the feline will grieve, forever. So you'd better understand what cohabiting with a wildcat will be like, and if you later change your mind, TOUGH! YOU had best adapt!

I have Siberian cats. They seem to minimize my cat allergies. I like that they are quiet cats and seem to need minimal maintenance for a long haired cat. They also seem to not mind the cold.

Try to find out why your wife hates cats, maybe it's just an irrational fear or misconception that can be solved with controlled exposure and education about cats and how wonderful they can be as companion animals. That might be a cool topic for a video!
