I can program the stm32f103C8 in run mode but only intermittently in debug mode (Serial wire and software reset) with errors. I'm using STM32CubeIDE v 1.7. Possibly a loose connection?

If you use OpenOCD debugger with software system reset, keep boot jumpers in the normal position (zero side). Thanks

I used OpenOCD because some of the generic STM32 will not work with GDB server. If your board has original STM32, you can try using GDB server debug probe as well. With GDB, we can use without software reset.

does it scheme working without resistor? If i set GPIO_PULLDOWN in pin settings?

Yes. We can use without a resister by using internal pull-down resistor. It is weak and for stable operation st recommends to use an external resistor. As you have said, I have used the push-button without resistor in video-no-56 in my KZfaq channel. Thanks

bro its working. just ground and b1 you need for button attach. and led wire same as the video.
