Everything these political types do any more is help themselves to public funds. It's quite literally all that government has done for decades. Hence the constant M.P pay raises, whilst we still suffer the consequences of the austerity measures which were imposed as a result of a criminal banking fraud which was committed by none other than the previous prime minister himself, rishi fkn sunak. If that doesn't crystallise EVERYTHING that is rotten about our political system, I don't know what will.

The maths of a Labour coalition with the Lib Dems in 2010 did not work - so the only coalition viable was one with the tories. The only other option was a minority Tory government which would have fallen pretty quickly and in turn led to another election. The Lib Dems took the view, bearing in mind the bad economic state due to the 2008 crash, that stable government was better than more chaos. Though of course this led to Austerity - for which the Lib Dems were soundly punished in 2015. But then again during that 2010-15 government at least they kept the right wing tories in check - as you can see what happened afterwards when they werent there ... Brexit, Johnson, Truss ... political chaos!!

@@terrycurzon1318after less than a week we’ve already seen more transparent interviews, less pretentious snobbery, and the implementation or disbanding of multiple policies. That’s as much as we’ve seen in the last 4+ years under the Conservatives. Unfortunately that isn’t even a huge exaggeration either. I understand that older generations have lived under Labour governments which may have struggled to manage the economy, that have taken us to war and created unrest, and that generally haven’t lived up to expectations, but if you truly believe that continuing with a Conservative government under the current climate was the right decision for this election, you’re simply stubborn and wrong. The simple act of acting itself, which with the mandate and majority that Labour have, is inevitable, is a better outcome than continuing under the same government. The Conservative government also has the opportunity to reassess, rid the Party of the unserious and out of touch politicians which plague their chances of resonating with several areas of the country, and come back stronger. They will hopefully see where they have gone wrong as a result of such a catastrophic loss; I would also hope that they would see the threat that Reform UK poses to them, but that remains to be seen, as they could take the unwise decision of aligning more closely to the far right as part of their reassessment of the Party. Lazy comments like yours which fail to grasp the extent of the political landscape are entirely unhelpful. I hear them a lot from older voters, but in truth, it’s time for those voters to do their research, try harder, and stop going with the status quo for the sake of being stuck in decades past.

@obscurum6 15 күн бұрын
@@jonathanmormerod Not really the point is it. The point is that people bought into an idea that they can all be rich one day. Win the lottery, be a millionaire business owner etc. it's all lies. It started with telling the ordinary person to buy gas shares, then the lottery, then the slogan "Greed is Good" in the 80s to 90s. People watched celebs and they want sport cars, boats and designer clothes. When you think like that it no wonder the Tories can come along and scam you. Their platform is aspirational - with NO ACTUAL IMPROVEMENT. It's a trap, like Faust. A lot of the British public sold their soul to the devil (Tory narcissistic ideology) and they dragged everyone else down with them. Lower class and middle class idiots wanting to be upper class, look at how they luv their Downtown Abbey ffs. If people accepted the fact that it better for the majority to have enough, a good home, a decent income and focus on community and friends, instead of focused on getting rich, the country and people would be more happy and healthy. The class system in Britain has to change. Get rid of all private schools for a start and close down Oxford and Cambridge universities (yes I am serious).

After all the harm she did to people that Britain invited in and who actually contributed value to the country, May's tears for herself were perhaps the most egregious part of this utterly talentless shower. Then again, the endless lies of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson and the light-bending density of Liz Truss put up pretty convincing claims to be scrapped off the nation's befouled shoe and onto the top step of this podium of mediocrity.

Sunak said as previous Tory leaders have said after a crushing defeat....we will learn from this. No they wont , they never ever listen, people were screaming out for the energy companies to pay more windfall tax to ease the burden on the end user, in fact the energy companies offered to pay more, the Tories went in favour of expotential share holder bonuses paid for by already cash strapped people of this country, one of many costly mistakes for them
