When can you say that your blood pressure (BP) is normal? When does it become high BP? What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 high BP? Did you know that any BP value, above 180 mm Hg is an emergency situation? One of the most common reasons why blood pressure doesn't get controlled is because of the ignorance on the patient's side to identify a BP reading as high, normal, or urgent!

I am a 64 year old male.My pulse rate is always less than 50 and many times it reaches to 35.Accordin to my doctors I am healthy .I walk in the morning for 65 minutes covering distance of 7kms.My pulse rate was normal at 80 before I stared talking medicine for blood pressure(10 years) Otherwise I am healthy, active and energetic.

I have been monitoring my bp regularly for the past few weeks. The diastolic readings are nearly always at 80 or below. But systolic readings ranges between 137-145 when checked with the digital machine at home. But on checking with the health care centre with their pumping type machine systolic level goes above 150 but diastolic is at 80. I do not have diabetes nor any heart problem. Doctor has counselled me to take the tablet twice in the day ,yet the systolic level has not come down. Your opinion is solicited. I am a senior citizen aged 78years.

എന്റെ systolic BP എപ്പോഴും ഉയർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്നു. Diastolic BP Normal ആണ്. അതായത് 170/80. മരുന്ന് കൃത്യമായി കഴിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.systolic BP ഉയർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് എന്തെങ്കിലും കുഴപ്പം ഉണ്ടോ. ഒന്ന് വിശദികരിക്കുമോ ഡോക്ടർ

വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് ഡോക്ടർമാർ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നത് നിങ്ങളുടെ വയസ്സു + 100 എന്നതാണ് നോർമൽ ബി പി എന്നാണ്. പിന്നീട് മരുന്ന് കമ്പനികൾ അതു കുറച്ചു 140/90 എന്നാക്കിമാറ്റി പിന്നെയും അതു കുറച്ചു 120/80 എന്നാക്കിമാറ്റി ഇപ്പോൾ പറയുന്നതു 110/70 ആയാൽ നന്നായിരിക്കു൦ എന്നാണ്. നമ്മുടെ ബി പി യു൦ ഷുഗറു൦ കൊളസ്ട്രോൾ എല്ലാം എത്ര ആയിരിക്കണമെന്ന് മരുന്ന് കമ്പനികൾ തീരുമാനിക്കു൦. കഷ്ടം.
