I'm not a declutter either. I started watching these videos so I could find out what palettes are worth having and more importantly what not to buy. Things are getting pricey.

There’s really no need to ever throw out powder products, granted you always dip in with a clean brush and keep moisture away from it. Unless there are changes to the texture/smells strange/something else alarming, it’s not going to actually stop doing what it’s intended to do. No sense in throwing out expensive cosmetics you sweat and bled for 😅 I use my makeup allll the way up before it goes into the recycling bin.

I would love to see Urban Decay come out with more shimmery shades and go back to their roots and make some better color stories! I want a good NEW Urban Decay palette. They were my favorite brand back in 2016 when I first got into makeup heavily.

They were the reason I got into makeup too! Those little six pans that had a mini lip gloss or eyeliner, along with the Books of Shadows were my first purchases!

Something is going on with them. Not sure if they’re rebranding or going out of business but something big is coming for them (it has to be. I worked at Ulta through the holidays and they haven’t restocked in months and discounted their entire line for months. Something is happening)

@@RobertaNicholson1374 that would be amazing for them to be redoing the whole brand. Because it needs an overhaul for people to get excited about them again. If they only put some more money into their formulations for eyeshadows & packaging/graphic deisgn - that would really help jumpstart them. But right now I don't even buy their stuff when it's 50% off.

I decluttered my 160+ palette collection to about 25 palettes. I like watching these collection videos but when I had a huge collection like that it was so overwhelming. I envy people with big collections that are able to rotate and use everything.

@@lakiakeely5699 haha I think its amazing if you can rotate and get use out of your collection! I was SO ovwhelemed and I was like its not normal to be stressed out about what makeup to use lol had to give stuff away. some of my palettes I never even touched once

I don't think they use everything. I also have 100+ palettes and it's impossible. Once I get stuck on one, I have to skip other. When I did a declutter in my excel sheet, I ended up with 48 palettes I really wanted to keep and use. So that's my goal for 2022, figure out what to do with my decluttered palettes. Getting down to 25 is huge accomplishment!

I've watched your channel for years and at times we've had a lot of the same palettes. Now I have about 20 palettes in my collection and there isn't one single overlap! It really is strange how tastes and moods change. Enjoy all 140+!

If you ever decided to do a video where you give a summary which brands have premade palettes that are magnetized and can be rearranged as singles, it would be so helpful! It’s hard to tell online, and we don’t have many options around me to shop in person unfortunately.

All standard shaped Melt palettes are! Then all the cardboard and most plastic Colourpop ones and what she mentioned of ND and Kaleidos. Other than that it’s usually pretty rare, like occasionally some Tarte palettes will be magnetic but not of them for example.

I’ve been buying a lot of cool toned palettes lately, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to wear greys and silvers. Would you maybe do a couple looks showing how to make them look more wearable? Maybe with the mystic oak or ND glam?

I do a slightly warm brown and silver or a silver and grey thats purple undertones ( the sultry palette is perfection and its at TJ max fir $25 now .

I like pairing silvers on the upper eyelid with a basic warmer brown on the lower eyelid! I think Jamie Genevieve said somewhere that she likes using cool tones with warm browns like that x

The shimmers in Ctber Bronze are special but the mattes are eh. They don't like to play nice with each other. It is the only brand I've ever seen this with. It was so weird. I do want Flowe Punk. About a year later I've really warmed to the palettes color story.

I love the Naughty Nude palette by Huda. If you enjoy pinky, mauvy, burgundy, and brown shades, you’ll love it.

It's kind of funny that as you're going neutral I'm going brighter, which always makes me think of your makeup. When I do bright it's very similar to your style. It's so strange for me. I don't know if it's the dreariness of winter but I've really been feeling it lately. Tina got me with the Hummingbird palette.

I've been getting into satins too. I never thought that day would come! But they can look so beautiful on the lids and can be using in place of mattes and look so pretty, especially with some extra sparkly shades. Because you still get the contrast. So weird. I am finding neutrals & satins beautiful. Who I am???

I also bought an OG comfort zone about a year ago and I STILL love it. My original one was used until every shadow hit pan and I eventually threw it out, but it’s still a goodie, especially if you’re down with an all shimmer look and I definitely am.

I barely wear eyeshadow anymore and I have 52 palettes. I have declutter Ed many times and now I know what I like. So I bought a lot because of sales or inexpensive but I have decided not to do that anymore. I love these videos Lauren.

That was me with Colourpop now on the rare occasion they have a palette I really want Orchid You Not for instance I look and look through my now smaller curated collection to see if I have those shades. Beauty Bay got me good last year but it was only 5 palettes and right now they get the most use in my collection

I started by horde back in 2019, and I’m afraid to count. I don’t declutter, but I often give some away if my daughters or their friends want something. Once I started collecting singles also, my collection really has gotten out of hand! Lol

I took apart my temptalia collection, compared to other SG singles, got rid of a bunch, and kept the rest in with my SG singles. I just wasn’t using the palettes. Love that you point out palettes that have removable shadows! 💜

The shadows in Temptalia x Sydney Grace palette are indeed a bit different then their regular pressed pigment shadows- I talked to one of the owners and they said that Temptalia wanted them this way so they tried smth different. So yes theyre not quite the same as their usual single shadows.

I just started the video and scrolling to the comment section and I found your comment. I have not heard Lauren's opinion just yet, but indeed the formula in those palettes IS NOT THE FREAKING SAME ☹☹☹. I was so disappointed, because I love SG singles so much. I have well over 80 single eyeshadows from them, so I know their usual quality. When the palettes came out I didn't hear a single soul mentioning the change and when I got them. I was so so sad to see that, and it seems as many youtubers did not keep these palettes around because I have been watching many collection/declutter videos and I have not seen them around.

I know it's the first thing I search whenever a new product catches my attention, it's an amazing resource

The wet n wild OG comfort zone was at my local cvs in a holiday set this year!! Idk how long that kit was sitting in some stock room! I love a good collection video! I haven’t worn makeup in like a month.. (the whole fam got covd one by 1 for the holidays).. this vid makes me wanna go play with my collection now tho!

I've just done a declutter of my singles and depotted shades and got down from 4 to 3 z palettes. And then I have an ND mini, a PML quad and the Nars Climax from last season. I love my little eyeshadow collection and I love every single pan I own 🥰

I did inventory of my makeup at the beginning of the year as well and will take notes of how often I use which palette throughout the year. Palettes are definitely my Achilles heel when it comes to spending money on makeup and I wanna find out which palettes I gravitate towards, especially in regards to color story and brand.

I did the same thing. During the holidays I took inventory of all my singles and of each pan in my palettes. I have kept track of each shade I use and it has been such a great exercise for me, knowing and remembering what is exactly in my collection. I hope this helps me control my spending.

I opened and laid out my palettes to take pictures about 6 months ago. It's probably time to do it again because I've gotten more since then and given a few away to family. I gave away my misunderstood palette to my Disney loving teen niece as part of her Christmas present. It just didn't love it anymore. I've been super tempted by some of the colourpop quads, but I've resisted so far. I picked up lush life when they had it for $5, and yes had to get NBC. I picked up ND love on sale too. I want the huda rose quartz when it gets on 40-50% off sale, guessing that will be around summertime.

I love collection/declutter videos! A few years into my makeup hoarding I sold/ gave away a lot of my stuff. Some of which I ended up really regretting. So I’m always nervous about giving stuff away, I have these thoughts that one day I’ll regret it. I would like to move past this way of thinking, because my makeup style has changed so much over the years and I desperately need to downsize.

I'm the same way. My eyeshadow selection just keeps growing and growing. And everytime I think I might declutter... lol. I'm like, ugh 😑 I spent so much of my hard earned mulah on this though. 🤣 and so what if I don't use it. It's so pretty and I love putting them on display. I recently bought the Encanto palette and it’s SO BEAUTIFUL! The shimmers in it are stunning, and I love the mattes in there. I’ve never gotten anything from Almar Cosmetics, so I’m very happy about it! Definitely would recommend 🥰

I'm home sick and isolating well at my parents house. I'm UP early early. This is going to keep me entertained. Lauren I'd love to see you and Paulina do like favorite pink or sparkly eyeshadows in your collection. Like I'm on that BLUE Pink Purple sparkly train and I just can't get enough pink eyeshadows. It really helps me feel pretty and girly considering I'm growing my curls and coils out from a shaved head. If I could collect all the pink shadows id be happy

I've bought a few Natasha Denona palettes in the past few months and I'm loving all of them. I'd love to see some more videos rearranging them, like you did with Bronze and Love. P.S. The greens from Zendo palette pair really well with the bright purple (Dream) and the silver (Blind) from Love and some of the cool neutrals from Glam and the berries from Retro (which I'm aware you don't own). I imagine Bronze would have a couple of shades that would also look great with them, but I don't have Bronze yet so I can't confirm. As gorgeous as the warm shades in Zendo are, those greens are asking for more cool tones.

Hey! I meant to comment this on the last video but.. I'm wondering if you did by palette by week may be a fun way to do the tracking for the year. Like make a chart where the palettes are on a vertical list down the left and each of the 52 weeks of the year are columns across the top. That way, instead of trying to make sure you have a tick in each box, you'll never fill up all palettes cuz it's just not possible within a week. Can you tell I do data for a living? Thinking some fun things to look into would be: What do I use more in the winter weeks, summer weeks, etc. Are there weeks I use more or less. Do I wear more eye looks in the festive months or in downtime when I'm less busy? Do the colors in the palettes align with industry trends or seasonal trends or am I all over the place etc. Just a thought that may make this more of a curiosity rather than a challenge mentally.. Wishing you all the fun this year!

your shadows are my fav because I love shine. I feel hard for the mini new 4 pan COLOURPOP!! I dint have a bad experience at all. i have 2 and ordered 3 more. The package is thick clear plastic and so sleek!!

I want it but I'm thinking I don't want to be so into shimmers, not because I think I have to stop because I'm 45, but just looking at what looks good is pushing me that way. But another KZfaqr is all about the pinky shade that Lauren swatched and the fomo is deepening. And I love how the brand uses different aged models including the brand owner, Drew Barrymore, who is my age and I've watched since I was a little girl with my now long gone mom. ET was the last movie I think she ever went to. Anyway, I'm going more for a satin type shimmer now, definitely not all mattes.

@@MilwaukeeWoman I love a satin or a really smooth, shiny metallic. I have 40 year old, hooded lids so overly glittery, sparkley shades do not work the best for me, but mattes can end up looking a bit dry too. It can be tricky but I just tend to put on what I enjoy and then go about my day 🤗

You can pull out all of those SG Temptalia palette shadows and put them with your singles!! Just in case you didn’t know. I bought the huge two side empty Adept palette and put all of my SD singles, including all the shadows from the Temptalia set of three. I love it, and use them so much more.

Oh my god, I just did my first declutter ever...AND IT FELT SO GOOD! I guess I just felt so intimidated, or scared, to do it...But I'm soooo glad I did. Now I'm looking for some lgbtqia+ places to be able to donate what I decluttered to...

In 2022, I’ve decided not to feel guilty about my absurdly gigantic makeup collection. I’m trying to only add special shadows now, and follow Lauren’s lead and dupe something if I think I really need it! I love my special singles from indie brands so much, and most of the time I realize I don’t need a new palette bc I already have better shadows in those singles!
