(I think this is also mentioned at ~ 7:20 ) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whenever a group of people assemble in one of the Houses of Allah (i.e. Mosques), reciting the Book of Allah and studying it, tranquility descends upon them, Mercy covers them, angels surround them and Allah makes a mention of them among those who are with Him.” (Muslim)

Mashallah. But one query can you answer, was there any participation of girls or women huffaz. Please encourage the 50% of the population of ummah to memorize qur'an. We should remember Hazrat Aayesha, hazrat Hafsa, Hazrat Umme Salama were hafiza. Don't keep your mothers, wives , daughters away from this neamah. I am looking for good online Quran Hifz tutor/class for my daughter. She has already memorized 3 juz, but sorry to say I didn't find. Don't exclude girls from this education, these are the mothers and the 1st teachers of whole ummah

Are they learning the meaning of the words or just sounding out the verses?

They are preserving their memorisation. To understand the meanings you need to learn Arabic. You can learn the translation in English to begin with but it's best to have the intention to learn the Qu'rans meaning in the language it is revealed in. But memorisation is a huge virtue in and of itself. It is the very reason that the Qu'ran is the same scripture as it was over 1400 years ago.

@@zoomermcboomer4771firstly, if they don't understand what it says how do they know if they are reading it properly...what's even the point... I mean to say I don't sound out the words in French books and then say I know that book or what it says! Secondly, which English translations do you recommend as many I have seen have added stuff based on the sect of the writer? Thirdly, I thought Allah was protecting the Quran like it says in the Quran, not so called memorisers like you said 🤷🏻♂️ To me these "no understanding" so called hafizs are part of the problem in mordern day Islam 🤷🏻♂️ reminds me of the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) where he said the Quran will not pass their thoarts! 🤷🏻♂️

Don't beliitle their efforts my brother, there alot of hadiths that have stated the reward and importance of reading and and memorising quran. The prophet (pbuh) said every letter a person recites he will be rewarde 10 hassanat. I don't see your reoson belittling their recitations and to add on that its not like other books or languages , in quran you will be taught on how to pronounce the verses

@@counterdebate refering to order thinking level, Bloom's Taxonomy, Remember is the foundation, and only after that we come to Understand. Because by remembering, we can be certain what is need to be understood. That's also how Allah preserve Qur'an, by making it easy to remember. Also, their memorization is also checked systematically, so that the pronounciation is correct. Understand is the next step. So rather than questioning why remember something they don't understand, it is better for us to encourage understand the context after the process of remembering.

@@armag-don I understand what you're saying but since we now live in a world of recorded media and the Quran in Orginal Arabic is accessible worldwide. The excuse for parrot fashion learning is gone... and more over never realy existed in the Islamic world in the first place... The problem I see is that now the majority of people seem to think that reading the Quran without understanding the message is worthwhile and then seem to set understanding what it says in the Quran as some sort of impossible "scholars only" dream that the average muslim shouldn't attempt! And Allah knows best
