Subscribe and join me as I manufacture my own v twin engine at home using some foam, a furnace and my CNC mill.

This is part six of my engine build. The goal is to create a running V-Twin Lifan engine, inspired by Allen mill yards ss100 V-Twin builds. I want to use as many standard parts as possible to make the build as easy as possible and reduce the number of parts I need to make.

This is beautiful! One question I had with the Millyard SS100 and also your build is how does oiling the top end of the second cylinder work? Did you have to add an oiling circuit to get oil up there when the engine is running? Millyards cases look good on the outside but the inside looked like there was substantial welding filler, and machining - I spent alot of time trying to zoom in to see if there where any noticeable changes for oiling but couldn't spot any. Your cases are so clean - very cool!

Thanks, I’m going to run an external line between the two cylinders, seems like the least amount of hassle. I’ll run a banjo bolt either from the RHS head cover usually where you can connect an aftermarket oil cooler, or I’ll place a fitting on each cylinder where the bottom right stud runs and have them tee together.

Blue Max and porosity ?. How- where did you use this please ?

I didn’t end up needing it as the porosity didn’t cause the engine to leak oil. Paper gaskets worked just fine, but it is just an Rtv silicone that may have helped seal pin holes.

Did you do the CNC conversion on the mini mill yourself? Love a short vid of some details on it. Nice work

Yeah, I did the conversion over a couple of months. It wasn’t too complex. Mostly following circuit diagrams and reading manuals, with a few parts that needed fabricating. I’ll definitely do a short video at some point.
