14ft jon boat/Mercury 9.9 DRIFTING!!!!

I wanted to make a video that people usually don't do and that is crazy, I got to thinking and I wanted to do something with my friend and my boat. So I thought of drifting! In this video my friend and I go drifting around this crazy stuff and it's actually cool how it all works out because we actually could of gotten hurt really bad, just one hit on the peer and we would of been all over the water.

More power to ya! Two of my friends got killed doing the same thing. Back in the 70’s hit a piling split boat like a beer can. One broke his neck and drowned the other broke his upper back couldn’t move his legs died two days later. Good Luck.

Skill has nothing to do with it, you can test skill without being totally irresponsible. Everyone makes mistakes, if you haven't you've not pushed the limit very much. It's not worth the risk of drowning!

I'm all for this. It looks Hella fun but wear the leash for the motor. If you die by not wearing a life jacket that's on you, but if you fall Out of that boat you could seriously hurt or kill someone. You do you as long as you don't affect others; not wearing the leash effects others.

Grew up on the susquehanna river, my daddy always taught me to stay off the shoreline, less chance of submerged logs,rocks,etc. And WEAR A LIFE JACKET ! They only work if you have them ON ! "YEA, BUT I`M A GREAT SWIMMER " ! NOT if your knocked unconscious and thrown from the boat ! Not much fun pulling up your dead child after searching several days for him ! HAVE FUN, BUT BE SMART !!!

You can get 15 hp out of that 9.9 by changing the Carburetor and Prop. 😎👌

that's only true for older two stroke 9.9 motors. These newer 4 stroke 9.9's are essentially the same thing as an 8hp but they have a bigger carb/different prop

I learned that the hard way. I had "engine" issues in the swamps of Louisiana and had to get towed out by a boat with a long tail. Only after 1 extremely muddy ride home and a week of trouble shooting did i realise my engine was perfectly fine. My fuel tank was just trying to suck itself in, turned the ventaltion knob by the cap and never had an issue since. :)

I was about to put a 9.9 on my 12 ft Jon boat but then realized the 15 hp is the same block, so I’m going to upgrade from 20mph on a 6hp to possibly 40mph on a 15hp

Fergus this a great boat. All the credit goes to my father. He is great with carpeting wood decks. Very simple. Cut the wood to fit you bottom of the boat and staple outdoor carpet to it fitting it very nicely all around.

Robert kaigler You damn right it will. Kinda depends on which boat ur putting it on. If its a Jon boat, go for it! It will push that thing like crazy. For a 14 ft Jon boat all you really need is a 9.9 but you can go 15 and 20 if you wish.
