$15,000 for My Bad Art on eBay?? | Twin VS Twin Challenge

Күн бұрынToday we’re going to see if it’s possible to sell our #bad #art on #eBay! We came across a TikTok recently where a guy posted a pretty bad piece of art on eBay, but due to his strategy and how he described it, it sold for THOUSANDS of dollars! Do you think we will get any bids?? 🎨

Of course, we had to turn this into a competition between the two of us, our younger sister @KamriNoel, and Bailey’s boyfriend, Asa! We each created our own paintings and came up with different strategies on how we should market them on eBay!
All of our paintings ended up getting some SERIOUSLY high bids! Mine (Brooklyn) actually ended up getting the highest bid, and it was $15,100.00! Asa came in second place with a bid for $13,200.00, Kamri came in third place with a bid of $12,100.00, and last was Bailey’s bid for $10,800.00!
Going into the competition, we didn’t know if we would even get any bids at all. We agreed from the start though that if we did get any, we would be donating most of the money to a good cause. In the end, the bidders ended up not paying - so none of us made any money on our paintings this time! It was still incredibly fun to do though, and it was honestly a really cool experiment!

Yeah, when they spread the word on tik tok I was dissappointed, I wanted to see how they would do organically. I would have even been okay with them simply promoting the paintings but not telling people who they were or having one of their youtuber friends do that, but not blatantly telling people about the competition.

It would probably fail or sell very low. I'm jealous cuz I'm one of the millions of people trying to sell paintings on etsy and failing. I sold one successfully for 20 bucks but since then nothing. If you're not famous you're not an artist.

Well didn’t Brooklyn win so that’s not fair that she won because she wasn’t playing a fair game bailey should’ve won. It’s ok that she posted the tiktok but she shouldn’t have said which paintings are which person. It’s not fair and Brooklyn and Bailey and Kamri have more of an advantage cause they are more famous than Asa. Asa should’ve had an advantage. My opinion tho no one has to hate or agree with me.

I know it was just a fun competition, but: How is it in the US, don't you have to buy something on ebay, if you're the highest bidder? Because here in Germany, you're required by law to actually buy it if you are. Otherwise you could be sued for the amount of money of the final bid.

as an artist myself, i have a good insight into selling art on ebay, what just happened was scammers were bidding, it happens more than you know, they bid on items then if they pay and you ship it out they claim its damaged and get paypal to refund them, and you never see your goods again. this is common with art , you see bids for £10000 or more when you list your items for £100, no serious bidder will pay you 10 times what your asking.

@@lijntje266 no paypal refunds the money to the buyer and the sellers loses the money as its taken back to refund the buyer. Sadly ebay favour the buyer far more than the seller and the seller just has to wear the cost of the postage that they originally posted it and the lose again on paying the postage to have the item sent back. A lot of people rort the ebay/PayPal system. Or get a refund saying they never received it if the seller hasn't used tracking on the item.

They just did this challenge for fun. I don’t think it’s a big deal. It would be nice to see how many bids they would’ve gotten if they didn’t post on tiktok but at the end of the day it was just something they did for fun.

@Gabbie LUI What should be and what is are 2 different things :). It wouldnt be the first kid who wastes there parents cash on an influencer. Im fairly certain at the age of 9 i could make an account on any site i wanted Luckely back then online shopping wasnt a thing :). And i would get a serious beating if my parents would notice me wasting there cash. Or even my own cash for that matter. Most parent give their kids acces to their or to their own multimedia devices so they dont have to supervise their kids.... I just dont think it was smart to share it on tiktok knowing that the main demographic of tiktok users is between 13-30years old. So im fairly certain they dont wanna spend 100 dollars for junk if they worked for the money themselves. Atleast not some1 that isnt a braindead fanboy/girl.
