Always glad to see you're back once again with another suggestion over a song composed by YuppeMetal (aka Yuyoyuppe), you'll hear more songs from him, he's also behind "Karate", Kagerou, the arrangements of Megitsune (you already saw) and more new songs from latest album like Monochrome and Believing. "Akumu No Rondo" (or Rondo Of Nightmare) combines not only heaviness with dark waltz and dope time signatures changes but also delicate and fragile elegance that makes you want to grab your inception kit and go to rescue this 16 yo queen from this nightmare. Temporarily title song was "Kill The Alice" so it is like Alice but instead of Wonderland she's trapped in a nightmare trying to escape and avoid some evil entity. Rondo is a musical form in which you can hear a repetitive pattern, an example of this could be the song "Blue Rondo a la Turk". The Kami Band is doing their second magnificent intro of the night with their own set called "Mischiefs Of Metal Gods". They become regular after this special live at Budokan 2014 and leaving baby-bones, from early shows, behind, shout-out to them thou. You already know some of them from your previous reaction, such Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums, this time Leda Cygnus is the first guitar. This was the day (night) after the first live premiere of this song and she's dancing and performing like she already did a dozen times before, like a pro. Also she's showing some fierceness here dancing on that high dangerous mini stage with no wire and that's how she keeps winning everyone's heart. But not everything was perfect here despite their impeccable performance and sound, and the day before the girls face that dangerous challenge on the stage, taking their own revenge after coming back in 2021 to celebrate their 10 years and leaving those ghosts behind, fortunately. Like i said, YuppeMetal is the one behind this song and he took inspiration from "Protest The Hero - Bloodmeat" song, of course i recommend you to hear that blaster song. Thanks for sharing this wonderful SuMetal solo and my favorite along with "Akatsuki" (live at Budokan 2014 is another great choice) The other solos are great too and those are: - No Rain No Rainbow live at Legend S 2017 - Amore live at Wembley Arena 2016. Great reaction ... and I vote yes to going back to see live versions of the songs you only heard the studio versions for ... and 'Megitsune' is a great place to start. The Red Fox Festival live would be ideal, but they're all good. For the Kami Band's 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' intro, in order of solos - Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). Yes Su was 16, it was just two or three months after her birthday. There can't be many 16 year olds who could follow that intro and then just take over the whole stage and arena the way Su did. I understand rondo is a musical term denoting a repeated theme - something like that anyway. I believe they borrowed the term for the title of this song as Su is caught in a recurring nightmare, being chased through the darkness by something she can't see. Eventually she hides, but it is still coming closer. Knowing there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least reveal itself to her.

Thanks for this reaction. Yes, this was 2014, she was 16 in this performance. The home work story has gotten a bit out of hand, I don't think this is true for all shows, etc. What we know: when Babymetal was on first or second world tour (or the short few days tour in the UK after the first world tour ?), they had a journalist tagging along for a few days. And he said at a festival they were doing multiple things: watching other bands, performing their own set and backstage training for a new song AND doing home work. This was the same tour when the journalist also said: one of the girls will be reviewing her work in the airplane back to Japan from UK because she has a test when they get home. Having said all that: the company Babymetal is part of demands they do well in school or they are in trouble. School comes before work. One of the moms has said: if you don't do well in school, You are not allowed to work.

Great reaction as always, thanks! This song (and this live performance) is so good that it speaks for itself. I'm more surprised about the four people who hit the dislike button. You guys need to face it Your little and peaceful metal world has been destroyed by three little Japanese teenagers and their backing band and it won't be the same anymore. Just get over it. 😁 And yes, the homework anecdote is right. Japan takes education seriously. And ,at the time, both Yui and Moa were still 14 so still during compulsory education (It ends at 15). They said in interviews that their parents (and their company) required them to have good grades at school prior to fronting a metal band and touring worldwide... and this sounds really crazy when you read it. 🤣 Until next time! 🤘🦊

"Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her.

Love watching the drummer Hideki in this, when the camera pan to him in the beginning, he looks like he's just casually drumming and not responsible for the machine like pounding in the background with the double kicks. Most singers might get intimidated having to follow the spectacular performance by the Kamiband, but 16yr old Su just gets up there, and shows you why Babymetal was built around her. 🤘🦊🤘

The Kami band has some of thier own stuff. The guy with the gold guitar is also in Marty Friedmans band. This song shows off the band and SU. Moa was late for a show cuz she had a test so the show was delayed.

A suggestion if you want to re-do live Megitsune: Babymetal - MEGITSUNE「メギツネ」(Five Fox Festival ver.) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdaWhtqCycu-c2g.html This version uses "red fox festival" audio, which was an all female audience night. The five fox festival was five nights each with a specific demographic required, like no kids, no adults, only women, etc. It's pretty special to hear a song largely themed to female empowerment with an all female audience singing along. Look forward to next whichever you choose!
