It is important to say that the first gymnast to perform this jump in America, who appears first in this video, is the brazilian Jade Barbosa in 2007. In 2023, at the age of 32, she achieved the silver medal, as a team, at the World Championships. Long live Jade!😊❤

@@gymlandia4467then some of the vaults in this list are questionable in my opinion, namely Raisman and Douglas. (Raisman bc her form is sloppy and Douglas bc of the cheated pre-rotation technique in the pre-flight.)
@gymlandia44677 ай бұрын
@@Anton93719 Komova and Aliya had worse vaults than both yet you failed to mention them. Gabby’s form is perfection as well, while Komova’s isn’t. Aly does have form errors yet so does Aliya,Paseka, and Komova.
@Anton937197 ай бұрын
@@gymlandia4467 her form isn't the issue. It's that she cheats the entry by doing part of the twist before she hits the horse. Which means she has less twisting to do in the post flight, making it easier. It's not the way any regular Yurchenko is supposed to be performed (i.e. not RO half-on or RO three-quarter/full on).
@mjamitche52457 ай бұрын
With the 4 slow mo's at the end, you can see how each girl is getting her momentum. Biles is getting the biggest block. Maroney gets a good block but also is using a lot of momentum from her body before she starts twisting. Cheng gets momentum from her early twist (maybe the fastest of the 4 to start twisting), especially once she's facing forward. Hong begins to really get height after her first full twist.

Hard to believe that this vault was 1st performed over 20 years ago. In my opinion, women's vault (outside of Simone) hasn't really progressed because the FIG is hell bent on devaluing skills. This is why the standard vault is DTY vs the Cheng or Amanar.
@mjamitche52457 ай бұрын
It's a shame the way they've suffocated the sport by decreasing values on skills just to even out who's winning.
@mjamitche52457 ай бұрын
You're so right. Floor is almost unbearable to watch, the difficulty is so low. Bars might as well be a compulsory event. You see almost the exact same routine with every competitor. Vault is a series of DTY's. Can we just throw all our elite gymnasts worldwide into a University league? Then at least the drama is centered around the "stick". Otherwise the level of difficulty right now is not much better than college, if at all. The changes to the code of points the last 3 cycles have stifled the sport.

@asharadayne61597 ай бұрын
@@mjamitche5245the difficulty on floor is low right now? When you need a Silivas, a Chuso, or a combo pass that’s about as difficult to have a chance at medaling or even making the event final? Plus, this year, we had two gymnasts add a Moors to their floor routines! Go back and watch the floor routines from the 2009-2012 quad. You’ll see far fewer routines with the same level of difficulty. Honestly, this year in Antwerp, we saw difficulty from Rebeca Andrade, Jessica Gadirova, Joscelyn Roberson, and Sabrina Voinea than we saw from anybody except Simone Biles, Jade Carey, and MyKayla Skinner (when she was actually able to compete outside the US). And if we look at the Pan American Games and take into account Jordan Chiles and Kaliya Lincoln’s routines, it’s clear that we’re still seeing a lot of difficulty. Plus, Jade’s gold medal winning routine in Tokyo actually had more difficult tumbling than Simone’s gold medal winning routine in Rio did. Simone in Tokyo also had more difficult tumbling than Jade did, but that’s another sign of how much more difficult the tumbling on floor has actually gotten. Plus, people are adding back in more complicated dance elements, and the code is forcing them to actually complete the element if they want credit for it. And even with bars, the medalists in this year’s final had very different routines from one another.
