x1000 thumbs down for saying Teresa May was the top VIP in the UK and head of state. I can understand an American wouldn't quite grasp what a monarch was for (it is barmy after all) but would have thought it was common knowledge that we had one. Also, TV personality "Mr Blobby" was more popular and possibly held more power and influence after she lost her majority and respect of her party.

Yeah anyone outside the Commonwealth or countries that don't have royal families are that ignorant. The Queen may not "rule" the country as in centuries before but she still is the big boss. Even here in Straya it goes The Queen, The Governor General, The Aussie Cricket Captain then the Prime Minister. Also i think it's arrogant that certain countries can't wrap their head around monarchies in this day n age. It's not like the UK is the only royal family still going. It's none of the countries without a monarch's business whether in this day n age royal families should still roam the Earth. It's not hurting them or their country & it's not their tax dollar that's being spent so why does it annoy them so much? I'm looking at u Seppo's!!
