Saving money doesn't always require effort. In this video I share 15 effortless ways to save money!

Saving money doesn't always require a lot of effort, but sometimes you just need to be aware of certain strategies to save money. In this video, I share 15 effortless ways to save money.
1. Gasbuddy
Gasbuddy is an app that tells you where the cheapest gas is in your area. If you download the app and use it before you fill up your gas tank, you can save up to 50 cents per gallon on gas.
2. Buy A Water Bottle And Bring It Everywhere
Water is a completely unnecessary expense that many people will spend hundreds of dollars a year on. If you buy a reusable water bottle and bring it everywhere you go, it is an effortless way to save money.
3. Ditch The Paper Towels
Paper towels are a completely unnecessary expense that people spend hundreds of dollars on a year. If instead of using paper towels, you use rags to clean things around your house, it is a very easy way to save money.
4. Don’t Get Sodas At Restaurants
Eating out is expensive and it is more expensive when you buy sodas. If you simply cut out sodas and get water when you eat out, it can save you 10% off your bill
5. Pay In Cash To Avoid The Tip Screen
Everywhere now you are asked for a tip, which is called, "Tipflation." Although it is important to tip bartenders and servers, tipping everywhere can really add up. One way I avoid the pressure is by paying in cash at places that commonly ask for tips.
6. Get A Case For Your Sunglasses
Many people buy multiple pairs of sunglasses each year because they do not take good care of them. If you buy a case for your sunglasses and get in the habit of putting them in the case, it can save you money.
7. Get A Lower MBPS On Your Internet
Internet companies usually charge in "mbps," and this number can be very misleading. Having a higher mbps means that you can run multiple devices without it slowing down. For a family of 4, 200-400 mbps works fine and for two people having 100 mbps works fine.
8. Get Your Own Modem And Router
Another way internet companies get extra money from you is by getting you to pay a monthly fee for your router and modem; however, this is unnecessary. If you buy your own modem/router, it is an easy way to save money.
9. Don’t Eat Meat 2 Times A Week
One of the most expensive things people will spend money on at the grocery store is meat. If you decide to go vegetarian for two days a week, you can save money on the high price of meat.
10. Only Go To The Grocery Store Once A Week
Many people go to the grocery store multiple times a week, which makes them spend money in gas and getting items they didn't intend on getting. If you do all your grocery shopping once a week, you can save money.
11. Switch To Mint Mobile
Mint mobile is a cell phone company that uses T-Mobile signal that only costs $15 a month. The catch of the service is that it is second in signal priority, so your signal can be cut off when you're in a crowd. If you are willing to put up with a few inconveniences throughout the year you can save money.
12. Bring Sandwiches To Work For Lunch
Many people will eat out every single lunch for work, which can add up to thousands of dollars throughout the year. If you take the time in the morning to make your own lunch, it can save you thousands of dollars.
13. Pay With A Cash Back Credit Card
If you have the self control to pay off a credit card at the end of the month and not carry a balance, you can earn hundreds of dollars a year with credit card cash back.
14. Create A Running Queue Of Books At Your Library
Books can be expensive if you are an avid reader. If you create a queue of books placed on hold at your local library, you can enjoy books without spending money.
15. Go To The Gym Three Times A Week
Although going to the gym does take effort, it is a lot less effort than most people spend on health care services. If you just go to the gym three days a week for one hour sessions, it can save you a lot of money.

I buy instant coffee sticks cost me $1 for 6. I take pictures of my receipts and it gives me cash backs The bank where I work we have what we call “round up” which everytime i use my debit card it will round up to the nearest dollar and goes back to my savings If u dont need a new car dont buy one repair what u have. Call your car insurance ask for discount. Sometimes paying your insurance in full saves you $10 per month which ads up to $60-120. Just use your old phone and not upgrading it. Dont do the lease phone. Thats like $20-40 a month you will save monthly if you own your own phone. I spent most of my money on getting in shape due to i dont want to go through doctors and have medical bills and feeling sick all the time. I used to be in this situation sick every 2-3 months but once I started taking care of myself its been a year since the last time i got sick

I only eat once a day for the vast majority of days out of the year. Not sure how much it saves me a year in groceries but I'm sure it's a lot. And since I do healthy version of keto running my body on fat, I'm usually not hungry.

The biggest issue is that hit of dopamine our body gets when we buy food or something we want. I’ve found that whenever I want to buy something, I instantly transfer the amount of that item into my savings and it seemingly gives me that dopamine!

I always have tea bags in my purse and when I feel like having a hot drink, I just go into the coffee shop and ask for a hot water and say that I don’t mind paying for the paper cup. I started doing this years ago when I was travelling because I didn’t trust hotels or airports to have my favourite Thyphoo brand tea, but I started doing it all the time and it’s probably saved me so much money. I also always try to have an apple or some almonds in my purse so that I’m not tempted to get an over priced snack when I am out and about or cave and get some fries or a cheeseburger!

For me it is not owning a car that saves me a ton of money per year!!! I run all my errands with the local bus, and I am just fine, despite people telling me that i need a car... plus I don't need a gym, because I do a lot of walking. Saving money and staying fit... what else do you want?😂
@EllHuron
@EllHuron 10 ай бұрын
I own two 7000$ cars and a 5000$ quad. That's the luxury I indulge myself :) But I often take the bus. Nevertheless still "high" fix costs. But as I said, I am aware of that. But you are completely right. Someone who doesn't really need a car and needs to save money, get rid of it! A car costs a lot of money once you realise for yourself all the running costs it provokes.

Austin, Before even watching this video I had done the "pay cash to avoid tip screen akwardness"! So glad we share this sentiment. There are so many entitled people these days, and you are right. Paying cash is the best solution I"ve found around this. We consumers are so TIRED of being squeezed everywhere. Also, I'm pretty sure you can save alot more than 120/yr by not visiting the grocery store more frequently. I have been going 1 time a week and its huge. As is meal planning around sales. This once a week shopping at a lower cost grocery store like Aldi, and meal planning, is such a game changer.

Omg I adore Aldi!! Just do! The amount you save is wonderful. The prices have raised since 2020, but still lower than any store out there. Wonder how they keep prices so low?? Hmmm... 😏😂❤️🎈💰😁

I rarely eat out but I do tip for table service. Good service deserves a good tip, especially when they go the extra mile. Restaurant workers could be doing a much easier job for their minimum wage and it's a way to show gratitude. Makes me feel good to do it. My daughter is a server and I've seen her tip 100% to other service workers who are overwhelmed and having a stressful day, she knows how it is.

I understand what you say about not using plastic bottles, but I do recycle them. I purchase a certain amount of water a month, let the plastic pile and take them to a recycler. I walk with twenty bottles in tow (I live in NY) and collect my dollar. It goes into a special cash purse and when enough accumulates I go to the bank and place it in savings. That way I know it won't be touched. I do want to thank you for the wisdom you have on saving money.

Great tips! I do all of them already. Paper towels are a complete waste of money, not to mention terrible for our environment. I use old rags for everything and wash them in a separate load. The energy and water used to cut down trees and turn them into paper towels is a thousand times worse than the cost of washing a few rags. I also buy my food in bulk, and bring my reusable containers. Packaging is not only wasteful and bad for the environment, it costs a lot of money and you are paying for it when you buy it. I have saved 15-20% in food costs! By the way, plastic water bottles contain micro plastics so when drink from those single use bottles, you are drinking plastic. Ick! I’m over paper towel guilt. I have a puppy and toilet paper or paper towel quarters are huge helps. I have used cloth napkins for 40+ years. When their time comes, they move to ragville. My use of paper is minimal and will stay that way. Big wins come from eliminating food waste, composting, limiting meat, and careful monitoring of my frig, leftovers, and portions. I thrift most of my clothing and buy used often. Rarely will buy a coffee outside home. Plan my car use, save by limiting my shopping visits and working a circuit for them, errands, and recreation beyond my immediate neighborhood. For most of us, the small leaks can sink our ships.

One thing that's helping me budget at the moment is work provides free food during the shift. It only consists of bread with different spreads, crumpets , fruit (only twice a week..wish it was more) mug shot, cereals, noodles (2 different flavours) and several flavours of instant soup. It's a wide variety then most places do but as it's an office I wish they provided a lot more healthier options then beige food that lacks nutrients and impacts health a bit. In the temporary it does save my wallet 😅 I work 4 days but i try to rotate between it for 2-3 days (but get sick of beige very quick..quite literally 😔) so i tend to bring something in on the last day or allow myself to get something healthy for one day at itsu. I was doing good at healthy meal prep ...roast a chicken on a Sunday and have it with broccoli and corn throughout week but I ended up getting a bit too broke to afford anything but definitely will prioritise it next week for sure. Your right about the tips! When I was doing my awful drinking binges there was one place that I couldn't say no to tips on the screen everytime I brought a drink when served by one specific person...dude got sooo many tips out of me. I'm deffo for cash in that respect now.. I'm going out for a meal on Sunday and will deffo be doing that 😅

As someone who has relied on tips, I get that some people can't afford to tip everywhere they go, but please don't handle it that way. That's just telling the people behind the counter that you are unappreciative and that they don't deserve basic human respect. Say, "thank you, i appreciate it,i apologize, I'm short on cash", (even if it's a lie).

I absolutely Hate those tipping machines!!😡 it literally has stopped me from eating out or going to take out places.. same with bars! How many times do we need to tip for a beer? Back in the day when you went out drinking at a bar, you tipped the bartender well for the first drink then you were good for the night and the bartender took care of you for the night.

Great ideas! Oh, but the paper towels...they are the bane of my existence! I have 4 cats and with the cleaning of the litter boxes and the throw up (a thing with cats) no wash rag is going to do it. And then do I want that rag in my washer with my other clothes? And the additional water costs of constantly doing laundry?

Love these hack videos. I almost never eat meals that are centered around meat, but rather meals where meat is one ingredient among many. It helps me eat a more varied diet and one that is much less expensive. I am grateful never to have developed a soda habit. I might have a root beer with a slice of pizza, but that's probably once a year if that. Kombucha, on the other hand, is a guilty -- and very expensive -- pleasure. Thanks for these excellent tips, Austin!

When talking about modems and routers, you left out the VERY important fact that if you bring your own equipment, your internet company will not help you if you encounter problems with it. If you're not tech savvy, it's probably worth renting your provider's equipment.
