We are traveling all of Latin America in search of our favorite retirement city. We love cool weather, speak Spanish, and hope to find a city where we can live comfy for $2000 or less...if possible. We really do not go out at night...just not our thing. We also tend to enjoy the less touristy areas, to hang with locals. What are a couple neighborhoods that are less touristy than Palermo, that you like ? Thanks !

Tell the English speaking world that Argentina is not only about football, beef and scruffy squatters. Tell the world about internationally renowned people in the realm of classical music such as Alberto Ginastera, Daniel Baremboin, Marta Argerich, José Cura, Astor Piazzola, Carlos Guastavino… And although not of the classical music realm, but of international significance: Lalo Schiffrin and Gato Barbieri, they created the soundtracks for Mission Imposible and Last Tango in Paris respectively. La propiedad de tus padres no me parece exactamente una villa miseria, pero tenés razón sobre las ventajas culturales de B.A. -aunque no dijiste nada acerca de los vinos y la carne y las otras especialidades culinarias del país. I stayed in Palermo on my last visit. I think it's bit trendy and overrated. I'd rather stay in Recoleta. Nice place to visit though.
