Are you running any pro like apps eg Adobe or video? I'm keen to know how they stand up before I take the plunge as I have a 2019 16"

My previous laptop was a 2017 MBP and like..it mostly worked fine, but the keyboard was awful and the performance for my needs just isn’t as good as Apple’s M chips now. I don’t think I’ll get another new laptop for a long long time though 😅

the new air with apple silicon might actually be more powerful than an intel pro so you might as well upgrade to get the new design with more power and also get more for your trade in rather than waiting.

@@abc123fhdi That's exactly what I just did. I can't handle the sticking keys on my 2019 MBP. The Air looks better in just about every aspect and I was able to get $375 for trade-in.

Very interesting config. I ordered the 15" 16/512. I'm not the biggest fan of external storage and I wanted breathing space for accumulating photos and videos over the next five years. The extra SSD speed is a bonus. 24GB of RAM is very tempting and a practical max that even the MBP do not offer-well done on your order.

Yeah cause for a 16 inch pro version it’s literally 1000 bucks more like damn so much for that, that why I went with the M2 Air 15 inch with 24GB RAM cause I have a gaming monitor to hook up my MacBook with the DisplayPort and the external storage I already had for a long time and for under 100 dollars at Costco on sale so I’m excited for it when I get it delivered

hi i havent made my order yet cause i cant decide if i want to upgrade the ram or the storage or none at all. i'll only use it for school work and stocks. so is there really that much of a difference between the standard and the upgraded version?

@@besteliciou A new stock configuration should be more than fine. If I could only do one upgrade, I would pick SSD storage. Second RAM. Third a toss up between the two but likely RAM.

@@zhegirhussein6432 I feel like it’s one of the fastest computing I’ve come across and that comparison is from Mac & windows very easy to use and lightweight… I mainly use the device for all my independent music I compose myself …A true independent recording Artist Rell Robinson on all musical platforms I can substantially say my songs have had a better sound performance wise and this computer 💻 can handle a ton that I throw at it inside my DAW while also multitasking on the web and other apps…a definite favorite this far and the only issue I had was the speakers started to sound weirdly inside my daw but after researching I think that was from dust billed up but overall the jobs I need to do get done sufficiently I’m still using it and will continue to do so until I need an M3 Also side note I bought an adapter for the ports cause it only came with two and I needed more but that also works smoothly for external hard drive and interface

I think you could totally make the argument for a Chromebook too! You’re a bit more limited and obviously it makes sense if you’re work/school etc. is Google-centered but for the price, they’re really decent

I've been using chromebooks for the last 6 years. All I do is web browse, and watch youtube. I've had my current chromebook for for 3 years and paid $75 for it new at the time. Sure, it's all plastic, the screen isn't great, and the screen is only 11 inchs., but it just works for me.

Definitely the 16” Pro. You get a much better MiniLed ProMotion Display. I have the 14” Pro, and it is the best computer I’ve ever used.

You can't upgrade the ram. The ram has been soldered on to the logicboard, therefore you can't replace it. If you need more ram, you needed to have ordered the MacBook with upgraded specs

Yeah, I was surprised pricing out the 14” and 16” MBP’s just how expensive they get. I honestly didn’t want to carry around a $3K-$4K laptop when I travel too. And the weight does make a difference 😅

Thanks! I agree - I don’t really understand it. I think it’s Apple’s attempt to make their products consistent and recognizable at a glance. Like everyone *knows* the iPhone has a notch, but it at least houses the FaceID sensors. On a laptop, it’s just strange.

I've had the 15" Air for a couple days now, and not once have I even noticed the notch. 🤷 Now, the notch on the iPhone - THAT'S an eyesore. It's part of the reason I only buy Android phones.

Can you clarify? The 15” MBA has both the 35W and 70W wall adapters as an option when you buy, and there’s no price difference. Same as when you buy the 10-core GPU 13” MBA - 35W or 70W, no extra cost

Actually he is right there is no extra charge for the 70w option on the 15inch , you can choose either.
