Sauteeing garlic in olive oil until lightly golden and cooking tomatoes in that oil, until they burst, creates a flavorful and super simple sauce. The burst cherry tomato sauce goes perfectly with linguine or spaghetti. Top it with a handful of fresh basil leaves and good quality extra virgin olive oil and in about 15-20 minutes you'll have an awesome easy pasta recipe!

INGREDIENTS: (I used half the ingredients for this video)
1 pound spaghetti
1 quart cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup packed basil leaves
10 cloves garlic
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 cup pasta water

We tried this dish and it came out perfect!however we improvised.We could not get any basil leaves so instead we used a basil pesto and it was amazing!!!!!!

if you want the exact same dish, just with the sauce being a little creamy, just put about a tablespoon of mascarpone in there. i prefer it that way

I worked my way through college at a nice Italian restaurant in Seattle (late 80s). The chef made this dish but added bay scallops and used angel hair pasta - called it Capellini d’Angelo. I make it often - a great summertime pasta.

Quality ingredients are the key. You don't need to do anything complicated to make them taste good. This is a perfect recipe for home grown cherry tomatoes and basil.

This pasta is excellent! I'm not great at cooking and I didnt even have fresh garlic or cherry tomatoes. I chopped regular tomatoes and used pre-minced garlic I had in a jar. I was skeptical, but it came out awesome! Great recipe!

I've been binge watching your videos lately. This looks fantastic, especially for the time it takes. But nothing beats the Sunday sauce and Ragu recipes! So good!

of all the delicious pasta dishes you present, this simple one is my favorite. i've made it time and again, with subtle variations, sometimes adding some shallot, or subbing parsley for basil. adding anchovies. throwing in some kalamata olives. it's a wonderfully versatile way to a great meal.

I bought cherry tomatoes in hopes of making something that looked like this. I also bought a basil plant which I'm trying to keep alive. Now I can make this recipe. Thank you.

Definitely 10 out of ten. Made it as soon as I finished watching the video, it was phenomenal! Now I will have to try more of your great recipes, especially now with basil and tomatoes from the garden. Thanks for showing people how cooking doesn’t have to be difficult.
