In this episode, the Ingenuity helicopter discovers spacecraft wreckage before losing contact with the Perseverance rover. Meanwhile, the rover observes interesting rock formations, spots a bright object, and approaches the delta face. Perseverance's journey includes breaking records for distance traveled in one day and capturing the highest definition observation of a Martian solar eclipse. Ingenuity re-establishes communication with the rover and continues to provide valuable data for scientists. Perseverance starts its ascent of "Hawksbill Gap", the most challenging terrain yet.

Im obsessed with the images of the Mars landscape..they look somehow alien but also familiar at the same time. I adore the fact that NASA treats these robots as if they are truly alive, the letter between them is so adorable and it really hammers in how awesome these little guys are. They are billions of miles away from home, but are still connected to us through an emotional link that, even though they might not feel it as we do, it still ties us to them.

What could be cooler than living on one planet and being able to watch a video of another planet in high resolution like you were there? All people reading this, need to pause for a few seconds and think about how lucky we are, to live in a time were this is now possible. We all should appreciate this and not just take it for granted. I think the "helicopter" impresses me more than anything else. I have a solar powered fountain on my garden fish pond so I know how little real power comes off a small solar panel. It will only run continually in direct mid-day sunlight. To make something that can fly, on Mars, and take pictures like those is beyond belief.

It does not fly by directly using solar power. They remain on the ground for some hours and days charging a battery and then they can fly for some minutes.

Spacecraft litter is becoming a growing problem on Mars. Unlike the gas giants, where satellites and modules either burn up in the atmosphere or become destroyed under pressure. On mars, they will remain there testament to our legacy. I can't see any future human mission to Mars dedicated to recovering any of it.

This is all just so amazing. From the Earth Mars is but a little bright spot in the night sky and yet mankind is able to go all the way there, land a vehicle and have it drive around and send back pictures all the way back to Earth that everyone can view. Simply amazing.

Sorry about that guys, had to make a small edit to the video after uploading. KZfaq takes ages to re-process an already uploaded video for some reason. Edit: Seems the edit hasn't registered yet and will take a few hours, so I've gone ahead and published as I know a lot of you were watching it. So just ignore the glitch at around 5:00 for now. Hope you enjoy the episode! If you'd like to join the patreon community the link is here: patreon.com/elderfoxdocumentaries It's really appreciated and helps us to keep going with the series.

What I find intriguing is that a drone with propellers can fly in an atmosphere that is claimed to be 100 times thinner than that of Earth. This means that the propellers would need to rotate 100 times faster to achieve the same lift as a drone on Earth. So, a drone propeller turning 8000 rpm on Earth (which is on the low side) would need to spin at 800,000 rpm to stay aloft in the alleged Martian atmosphere. And, according to the shadow of the drone in this video, it only has two propellers.

800,000 rpm that would be 13,333 rotations per second, that is massive

...The drone's propellers spin at 2400 rpm, which is "only" 6 times faster than the one on earth. Second, it has 2 sets of 2 propellers, so 4. Spinning opposite directions to keep it from spinning. You people believe stuff way too quick. 1 random youtube comment is enough for you guys to believe something. But meanwhile you are the same kind of people that shout 'DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH'. This isn't research. this is blatantly believing a completely random guy that could, for all we know, be homeless without any work experience in any field with only a phone on him to watch youtube and post this comment.

@Jurgen van Gestel It's a whole lot of "both". Let me address the question that the naysayers will inevitably pose: "How could they hide these facts from thousands of employees?" The answer is quite simple, "Compartmentalize". The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing (that is how illusionists deceive their audience). Then they tell us what we are seeing. And, since the majority of people want to believe what they are told by the "so-called" experts (scientist), they go with the flow. Again, for the naysayers who think that such a cover up is impossible, I pose a question to anyone who works for a company or organization with 100 or more employees... What was discussed at the last Board of Directors meeting? If you are not a member of The Board, you only know (believe) what they tell you; if they tell you.

What is so eerie about this spacecraft material? It is the parachute containment end cap from one of our past lander missions. Could be classified as contamination.

I imagine with these latest photo's, it would be interesting updates! That physics professor too students including myself, to Yakima Washington in Feb 1979 to view a total eclipse of the sun.
