Nice! I have a M7060 cab tractor and just bought I new Vermeer M6050 8' disc mower. The reason I went with it is their new quick connect system which makes hookup as easy as with a caddy. It is awesome and will make caddies a thing of the past once people figure out how great Vermeers new setup are.

Vermeers connect is great. I still prefer the carted unit. Just a preference. I already had the kubota mower and was able to get the caddy brand new for 2500 couldn’t turn it down thanks for watching

Very nice hay crop! That was some fast mowing, our conditions here won’t allow that. The best I can do is around 7 mph. Your building a really good channel, I see it being very successful.

@@HillsideAcres you’ll do better then I ever thought about. We had a forage meeting once here with a guy from Wisconsin. He said how fast do you guys usually mow, 10 or 12 mph and one ole guy said we can’t even run the roads that fast around here 😂😂!

That is a gorgeous field of grass yall had there. So dark green and lush. I am sure it made some really nice hay. Yeah, he is rolling on that thing lol. Those drainages should help out a lot.

We got about 100 bales an acre from first cut ! Second cut coming soon going to push the tractor hard to make sure the new injectors are holding up. Should be a fun ride and I’ll even be wearing the seat belt lol!

@@HillsideAcres Wow that is awesome. Yeah you better wear that seat belt haha. My property is too rough and bumpy to go to fast. It would through me out haha. I just got finished bush hogging a few spots myself this week. I have left a lot of mine natural this year because I had a lot of wild flowers come up so I left it for the bees and other wildlife. If I had some good flat land like yours, I would be cutting some hay too.

We l; learned real Quick the advantages of having the Disc Mower mounted on a Caddy,, WE have 3 Krone Easy Cut 320s mounted on KMC 4760 caddies,,,,, We usually use 2 5115Ms and 1either the 6R145 or the6145R on the other All have GPS guidance and are Auto-steered,,,,,, It really saves on all phases of Haying, Mowing, Tedding, raking, I guess it could be also used while baling.... WE also have a Pull type Krone 3200 disc mower, but it is only used when we can find a driver......

That first field was beautiful clean hay! Stinks that yellow rocket came up a bit in the back field there. You are straight flying with that mower! How fast are you going?
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
We did hit the yellos rocket with 2-4-d about two weeks before mowing so it was on its way out, even picked them out the swaths after it was down which really sucked lol, for video purposes i got it up to 15 and it still cut great lol but i typically mow my fields at about 9mph and a little slower on rented ground

In all honesty I had to put some speed in for video reasons and yes I really did put the seat belt on lol! Christy will have to take the credit for the editing and drone piloting. I have no idea how to fly that thing lol!

Very interesting I always wonder what those caddies where used for lol, are you really able to mow that fast?
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
I went for higher speeds for video purposes lol but typical mowing speed is 9 mph cutting an 8’ swath. I’ve had the mower up to 14-15 mph and that’s just too much for the tractor but the mower dosent miss anything even at that speed !

Wow, you are really moving at a fast clip! Do you guys find the caddy better than hooking right on the tractor? I guess like you said it is faster to hook up. Looked like a storm brewing in the background. Take care
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
Lol I usually cut at around 9 mph I got it up to 14 I’m the video because I like to push things a little bit on camera and wanted to see if it could really mow as fast as I could handle driving lol! There was a big storm that day that cruised right past us, the caddy is great. Takes a lot of weight off the tractor and handles much nicer! Thanks for watching

Holy cow that thing is moving fast. My land is nowhere near that smooth. did you have to smooth out the land at some point or did you get lucky?
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
In the video i got it up to about 15 mph lol but typical ground speed mowing is about 9mph. Never have to smooth it off, the land here was dozed off about 100 years ago and was cow pasture until about the 70's

I enjoyed your drone shots. How much longer does it take to dry your hay not crushing it? I am thinking of trading my haybine in on a 3pt disk mower. I usually run a crusher behind my haybine. So i crush my hay twice
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
I would say the dry time to a haybine is comparable because with the disc mower you can mow your hay at anytime of day, i know the haybine will not like dew on the hay and could clog up. Really minimal maintenance on these mounted disc mowers, we do all grass hay so im not afraid to hit it twice in a day with he tedder if i want to speed up dry time. Thanks for watching!

How much power does it take to run yours?
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 жыл бұрын
@@jimcox6687 The manual states 40hp minimum, i guess it would really depend on how fast you want to mow, ive been having issues with my tractor at full rpms so all of this video was in the economy gear and can do about a steady 8-9 mph on flat ground. They are pretty heavy and have leverage to them, so some decent weight to the tractor is a good thing too!
