Want to beef up your English skills? Native English speakers love to talk about food and to use food images to express ideas. This includes using phrasal verbs where the verb is from food, eating, or cooking. But the meaning of the phrasal verb in total often doesn’t have to do with food at all. In this lesson, we’ll look at some of these phrasal verbs, including "duck down", "clam up", "beef up", "chew out", "swallow up", "chicken out", "chew over", "veg out", "boil over", "cut up", "milk for", "fish through", "pan out", and more! Watch the video, then take the quiz: www.engvid.com/15-food-phrasa...
More of my lessons about phrasal verbs:
14 phrasal verbs with strange meanings • 14 PHRASAL VERBS with ...
16 "MAKE" phrasal verbs • 16 “MAKE” Phrasal Verb...

Я порой смотрю ваши уроки просто чтобы осмыслить то, как вы объясняете на родном языке те или иные действия! Это намного проще чем заучивать что-то- вы объясняете саму суть действий...примеры супер и простая понятная речь, очень чётко озвученная - одно наслаждение - спасибо за ваш талант учителя, которым вы делитесь ❤

Совершенно верно, рассказывает просто супер понятно и просто. BTW, duck out получается эквивалент "уйти по- английски"?

I consider phrasal verbs to be my Everest and I do get overwhelmed when I come across them, but I have to admit, this I enjoyed it ! Also you can't say that there isn't some logic in them, some hillarious logic, but still.. Thank you !

Thank you so much for this. I will try using them from now on. But I have a question, is "swallow up" the same as "eat up"? like for example, He's narrating an enticing story and the audience is eating it up.
