My BSH is now 5 years old. He's an ex Show Champion as a kitten. I could not disagree more with the majority of your " negatives". Yes , mine has had teeth issues, but more due to neglect, prior to my acquiring him. Ollie is by far the most affectionate cat I have ever been owned by.(lol). He loves kids,is playful, cuddly and a lapcat. The fact that he is 7kg doesn't stop him from being active,inquisitive and adventurous. I watched your video to the end,and was left wondering what sort of BSH you have really had experience with..

I have one BSH at home, sometime I wonder if one is enough...😂 maybe another BSH with different colour would be fun. Yes he is a weighty muscular boy, really satisfying everytime I have to pick him up. Yes he meow, very softly only when he is asking some thing or when he is uncomfortable. Yes he is independent and confident boy, not a lap cat, but always seek out house member and be near them.

I have had 4 BSHs. Two currently. All have been very quiet.They have all been large and loyal. They all shed. In other words, the traits you have elaborated upon tend to be common traits of CATS! You don't sound like a cat person to me.

As a BSH breeder, here are the facts. 1. They are very not vocal at all. There is always a posibility of a vocal cat, but its less common. 2. Having a long and healthy life is listed as a negative? This is how you know the video is biased. 3. They do shed, but Id say less than an avg cat. Their hairs are easy to clean/pick up unlike some other cats. 4. This one is correct. They are not hypoallergenic. Id recommend feeding a bsh qood quality food to reduce dander. 5. May not be best for kids. Sure. They wont scratch them or anything, it just might be too much energy for them. This also rly depends on the personality of the bsh. Some need more energy and activity. 6. They are a bigger breed. 7. They truely are intelligent, and this is not a con. They can get bored if you are boring. Wouldnt anyone? 8. They are generally quiet low activity cats. But personality plays a role here. They are very polite, non destructive, well mannered. Chill. 9. Prone to heat. Yes. 10. Dont like to travel. Yes. 11. Independent. Yes. This isnt a con though. They arent as needy. 12. Intolerant to changes. Yes. 13. Tend to socialize slower. Yes. 14. Weight is a matter of how you feed them and how much you play with them. If you overfeed them, and provide no play, they can gain weight.

My 2 British Shorthair cats are very different in personality love this breed

We had 2 British shorthairs (brothers) both parents where award winning cats.....we had them for 16 years for me the why you shouldnt have them is a load of ********** i would recommend them to anyone and with any pedigree do your research....we have now being adopted by a female black cat, non pedigree but love her to bits (except live mice which she drops in the house)

And they meow very very rarely

Okay maybe 5 of these are accurate and at least 2 of those are easily fixed by not free feeding. The rest are so far off it's laughable just read the CFA breed analysis. The only one not mentioned that I might agree with is your going to spend around $1000 to get one.
