In this video, Office of Educational Assessment Executive Director Sean Gehrke takes on the challenge of explaining the OEA in less than 15 seconds at a time. “15 Seconds at a Time” is a series in which different Undergraduate Academic Affairs programs explain their work in bite-sized bursts.
The Office of Educational Assessment is dedicated to the improvement of educational practices through assessment of teaching and learning and through evaluation and support of educational programs and services. OEA offers nationally recognized course evaluation services to UW and institutions throughout the United States, and provides placement classroom test scoring to the UW Seattle campus. Their research staff are specialists in quantitative and qualitative methods, and collaborate with UW faculty and staff to create effective assessment strategies, particularly in the areas of assessment of college outcomes, survey research and evaluation of grant-funded programs.
