The no long checkout lines rule is definitely not followed in a lot of the Walmart stores in my area, and the biggest cause is not enough cashiers on duty at any time.
@BabbleTop
@BabbleTop Жыл бұрын
@anotherguyTN Thank you for bringing that to my attention. It's possible that the "no long checkout lines" policy may not always be followed in certain Walmart stores, especially if there are not enough cashiers on duty to handle the volume of customers. While Walmart may have policies in place to try to ensure a positive customer experience, staffing and other factors can sometimes make it difficult to consistently meet those goals. 😁

@@BabbleTop IMO if they are truly ripping off employees for wages they should in fact have more working considering the fact, even though I don't condone that greediness of the Waltons. They are truly MEGA corporate slime. I rarely shop there, I'd rather shop somewhere else that hopefully treat their employees like they should be treated & paid.

Amazing. I remember when big grocery stores were fully staffed with cashiers at literally every aisle. Obviously we now have self checkout but it's ridiculous to see maybe 2 checkout lines with cashiers and that is no exaggeration

as a former employee, the undercover security is definitely true. so is the proper training. it's not like they give us a map of the store or anything on our first day. we're just expected. for the no-lines policy and the gift card thing, I'm not entirely sure about it...probably because of the lack of training they did. the union and underpaid thing are true as well.
@BabbleTop

@Dani Thank you for providing your insight as a former Walmart employee. It's important to acknowledge that different stores and locations may have different policies and experiences may vary. However, it's good to know that the undercover security and proper training are important aspects of working at Walmart. The no-lines policy and gift card policy may also depend on the specific store's procedures and training practices. 😊

Most stores have undercover security. Remember working at a grocery store years ago and one of them was hiding behind the counter of the coffee shop I worked in waiting for someone to "make their move" towards the exit.
@BabbleTop
@BabbleTop Жыл бұрын
@Joshua Ortiz Yes, it's common for many retail stores to have undercover security or loss prevention agents to help prevent theft and ensure the safety of customers and employees. These agents may be dressed in plainclothes and may blend in with customers in order to observe any suspicious behavior or activity. While these measures may be necessary to protect the store's assets and ensure a safe shopping environment, it's important to also respect customers' privacy and avoid any unnecessary or invasive measures.🕶️

@Based it's important to note that different stores have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, and what works for one person may not work for another. While Walmart may have many strengths, such as a wide selection of products and competitive pricing, it's important to also consider factors such as the company's labor practices, environmental impact, and overall impact on local communities. Ultimately, the decision of where to shop is a personal one that depends on a variety of factors, and it's important to do your own research and make informed choices. Thanks for watching bro!🤗

@BabbleTop
@BabbleTop Жыл бұрын
@SuperAwesomeMovies Yes, that's true. "Made in China" is a label that can be found on many products sold in various stores, including small businesses or mom and pop shops. This is because China has become a major manufacturing hub for many different types of products due to its low labor costs and high production efficiency. However, it's worth noting that not all products made in China are of poor quality. Many reputable companies produce high-quality products in China and have strict quality control measures in place to ensure that their products meet certain standards.👌😁

You are aware that many people don’t have the same privilege as you, right?
@BabbleTop
@BabbleTop Жыл бұрын
@Joshua Ortiz While it's true that employees may have the opportunity to purchase company stock, it's important to note that this may not be a feasible option for all employees, particularly those who are struggling to make ends meet on a low wage. Additionally, owning stock in a company does not necessarily guarantee financial stability or security, as stock values can fluctuate and may not provide a reliable source of income. Raising employee wages can have a significant impact on the financial well-being of workers, particularly those in low-wage positions. It can help to reduce income inequality and provide workers with the resources they need to meet their basic needs and support themselves and their families. It can also help to boost employee morale and productivity, leading to greater job satisfaction and retention. Ultimately, it's important for companies to balance the interests of shareholders with the well-being of their employees, customers, and communities. By taking steps to support their workforce, companies can help to create a more sustainable and equitable business model that benefits everyone involved.

@Joshua Ortiz Furthermore, buying stock may not be a viable option for many workers who are struggling to make ends meet on low wages. I got tired of 'mom and pop shops' because of poor service, old inventory and excessive prices. I needed a TV tube once. A local shop wanted $14.00. The suggested retail was $3.95. I usually bought them for 39 cents. I would order things from local stores, that they never even tried to fill, while I had a customer waiting for a job to be finished. I ordered supplies by the box, bag or bundle, unlike a lot of competitors, and even then I sometimes was ignored. There are at least six Walmarts near me, and thousands of small businesses.

@@BabbleTop We recently lost a very old hardware store. The owner's health was failing, and the building isn't very god, so no one would buy it. I agree that not all are bad, but I've dealt with a lot where the owners no longer cared I'm in my 70s, so I dealt with some of them during bad times. I've also seen many small chains go out of business, or into bankruptcy. One local grocery store chain has been through at least two bankruptcies, and they have gone from over a dozen stores to just a couple in the last 20 years. A lot of the issues with large chains is local or regional management, not corporate issues. I recently saw a video of a woman bitching that the only Walmart in her area didn't have the brand and type of tire she needed in stock. She lives in the desert, and it was a very expensive off road tire that only specialty shops would stock. She didn't call and ask, then she was ticked that they would have to wait weeks for it because there were none in the supply chain. A locally owned tire store recently sold. The owner had built the business, an he was retiring. I've known him for over 25 years, and he spent most of his day on the phone, (or later online) looking for specific tires. It's not fair to blame all shortages on the stores when there simply aren't the goods being made. 'Just In Time' manufacturing caused some of this, where the manufactures keep only days worth of raw materials, and little or no finished products in stock.

@Michael Terrell Thank you for sharing your perspective and experiences. You bring up valid points about the challenges faced by both small and large businesses, including issues with local or regional management, bankruptcy, and supply chain disruptions.
