Its amazing how much easier it is to buy something on a loan vs. spend hard saved cash for the same item. I still love my 8 year old Toyota. I’ve been planning to buy a new Lexus but keep putting it off because my old car still feels brand new. It’s worth more to me than the cash it could fetch.

@@Danielle_1234 I'm 56 and never going to retire. But I chose to do it this way since graduating from high school. My plan is working flawlessly. I been debit free for the past 22 years. I just bought my first home 2 years ago and pay it in full with cash, so I'm still debit free. I move a lot during my younger years. To see the world and do things I wanted to do before I die, not until I retired. Never saved a nest egg for retirement. I just save a golden goose egg to do my traveling and moving. I had many jobs, so when I'm in between jobs, I'm living it up. Taking 3-6-9 months off or 1-3 years off from work. When my funds are down I'm back at the grind again. I'm living as cheap as I can. I have everything I need. Expensive for me are super low. I have no worries in the world, especially money worries. Planning to live up to my 86th birthday. If I pass that age, I'm going to call them bonus years. My work gets easier as I get older, I make sure of that.

This video tells me that I have the mindset to be rich. I save a portion of my earnings regularly. My way of saving is stacking gold and silver. If the money isn't liquid then I can't spend it. I've always seen money as a tool to get things done. Money like any other tool fixes broken things. According to my family that since I want wealth for a better future I'm being evil. They say the love of money is the root to all evil. I always tell them that I don't love money but I want a better life. Being hard headed and dense they told themselves that I'm lying or no nothing. They are unemployed and have no ambition. Well some of them. The wealthy keep me motivated to keep moving forward with my ambition.

I ask this question a lot. How much is enough? A lot of people will work themselves to death and still are not satisfied. I worked with a man who was totally obsessed with being rich. He has just about killed him self. He is in bad health. I’ve worked hard in my younger days. I learned to live on very little in my life. I retired at 59 1/2 . What I learned in life is simple. I learned how to live with in my means. My bills are paid. I have a nice home. I have plenty of food to eat. Nice automobiles. Go on trips. Basically do what I want. The person I worked with has just about reached his goals at a price. Your health and physical self are priceless. Always ask yourself this, how much is enough. Peace of mind is what really matters.

I totally agree with you. For decades, the people in my country lived happily within an average material consumer life, with social assurances and close-to-free expenses concerning a wide variety of cultural opportunities and events. Nowadays many slave away their lives at work or business chasing "the extras". We have tranformed into a Capitalist society but many Socialist measures and ways of thinking still remain strong. To this day most people still can and will live happily within the average material lifestyle, understanding that material goods are not the all important factor in their lives and means to hapiness.

@biankapal1431
@biankapal1431 3 жыл бұрын
To put it another way, wealth is contextual. If you think about wealth as a tool to obtain goods and services or the freedom to make choices, then your level of wealth must absolutely be interpreted within the context of the society in which you live - where the goods and services you seek to obtain exist. Objectively, all westerners are rich, yes if you look at the absolute value of the money we have. But it's not just about whether or not you feel rich, but how far that money will get you where you are. Considering how far it would get you in a faraway place is helpful for perspective but not really relevant to how wealth actually impacts your life.

I’ve got clothes older than my college son. I mean, how many clothes do you need? That’s not the reason, but the rationale of why I am a millionaire and you are one of the millions who aren’t. Re-think what is important, really important to you.
@JohnBowl14690
@JohnBowl14690 3 жыл бұрын
Ooni - I agree that it really is what is important to YOU. I'm semi-retired and will likely retire within the next 2 years. That being said, I just recently replaced 50% of my wardrobe and bought a bunch of new clothes. For about $700, I'm now good for the next 7 years or longer (except underwear and nick nacks). In my opinion, as long as you're saving 25% of your net income and investing it wisely...you can spend for things that add value to your life, even if some might think it's not practical. And if you are retired and have zero debt (home paid off), and have money saved up, in most cases, you can spend up to 90% of your income. Just my opinion.

Why purchase a boat when you can rent one? We rent a boat and jet skis about once a year. No monthly payments, no upkeep. I own rental properties and purchase a new Jeep every 10 years, I have a Real Estate License so need an updated vehicle. Wear Caterpillar boots for durability, Wrangler shirts and denim pants. No fancy sports cars, unless I rent one from Turo for vacation.
