All the islands in Greece have something special. It's just that Santorini became one of the covers for Greece in combination with the massive growth of tourism that revolves around it. And it's not just the islands. Greece mainland's regions are special each in their own way. Greece is truly a spectacular country as it has breathtaking landscapes, 80% mountains, 6000 islands, 16.000km of the most crystal clear seas, 32% forests, snowcapped mountains to the only natural palmforests in Europe, to 800 natural hotsprings (one of the most hotspring rich countries on the planet) to volcano's and so on. And that is all on top of Greece's world renowned history and culture, heavenly cuisine, perfect climate and hospitality.

Last summer, my boyfriend then, book a holiday surprise for me in Santorini :)and for this holiday to be more then perfect he propose me :) Santorini is heaven on earth 🌍 This year we get married and bean to Bali for honeymoon:) different experiences.

Such a beautiful, picturesque place, visited in April of this year, didn't notice street pollution though, I'm not a wine person, but drank theirs at the wine distillery, the dessert wine was WAW!

I was there 5 days ago and it was amazing! Oia may be crowded as that's where the iconic blue dome is but in general, I would recommend it to anyone :)

Thanks Alux! I had the pleasure of visiting Santorini at the beginning of September 2018. It was SPECTACULAR!! I enjoyed some of the most wonderful meals, decadent wines and beautiful views! I also had the pleasure of working with a local photographer during my visit, who captured some amazing, breathtaking photos of me in the lovely town of Oia. I am not a billionaire YET, but I am on my way. I would love to share some of my Santorini location photos with you. I hope to encourage and inspire others, especially single women, who are also on their way to becoming billionaires. P.S. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your site. It is such a wealth of information. THANK YOU!!

Santorini Greece is really wonderful treasure to visit love the video very clean white wash homes plants,100 verities of grapes to make wine, cheese, vegetable are grown. I hope they put into making sure all areas are neat clean and presentable to everyone. David Sanders 10/1/2022

1627-1600 BCE are the dates (1600 BCE is largely agreed upon) of the eruption based on carbon dating. 1500 BCE was eliminated and is biblically based. Megatsunami of around 425 metres at tallest is theorised to have hit Crete based on mathematical and computer-generated models. It didn't directly lead to the downfall of Minoans but it did contribute to theirs, and 4 others including Egyptian civilisation, over a period of 1500 years or so. It certainly played a major part but no remains have ever been found. In all likelihood, these were swept out to sea, incinerated or worse. It was a quick death for the victims. Most would've been dead well before the megatsunami hit Crete due to suffocation or ash inhalation.

Most stunning views and instagram photos. The food is expensive and not fresh. The wines are not even close to the best in the world, what an insult to wines. Especially santo winery are terrible. The views however from Santo are spectacular. The Crete winery we visited was far more delicious. Diamantakis I would highly recommend on crete.

Did nobody mention that it is a nightmare to be in when the Cruise Liners arrive ? That they have drugged animals and children being used to beg on the streets ? That the footpaths and roadways are dangerous underfoot, that you take your life in your hands when walking near traffic ? That was last week, it was a lovely destination but it is crowded and not a pleasant experience.

What the heck does "capitalism" have to do with people throwing trash on the ground? If you were honest you would point out that it is mostly non-capitalist countries that are the most polluted.
