Insurance companies make money and that's how business works. Although, they pay lots of claims. Here let me break the numbers down to you and put it in perspective for you. Insurance Coverage (Coverages are example only) Bodly Injury/Property Damage---------------------100/300/100 (First two numbers represent BI/three hundred is the most it will pay out if multiple people were in the car/Third Number is the most Property Damage will pay out if At-Fualt for an accident) Under-Insurred Motorist-------------------------------50/100/50 (This coverages pertains to you when not at fault. Just like liability it pays out if needed to what limits you may have. This pays out when the other person doesn't have enough insurance to pay the claim. NOTE: if this happens it will not count against you towards your rates.) Uninsured Motorist--------------------------------------50/100/50. (Hit and run and this what covers. Hit by someone with no insurance this what coverage pays. NOTE: Own an expensive car. Might need to think about this coverage selection.) FULL COVERAGE= DEDUCTIBLE Comprehensive-----------------------------250$ (Claim arrises out of weather. Hitting an animal while driving. Anything that is not your fault. If claimed then DOES NOT count against your future rates.) Collision----------------------------------------500$ (When you are At-Fault you pay a deductible to get your car fixed. This counts against you for your future rates.)

Alux - you picked a GREAT industry to study this week!!! My question - why am I a criminal for not having life insurance in the USA??? I understand it is the "individual mandate," and maybe this isn't the time or place to ask questions regarding taxation, but why am I penalized by the government for not insuring my own personal health?????

1. Dodge Vipers insurance premiums are not the highest. 2nd Dodge Vipers premiums will be high regardless due to being a sports car and finding parts if wrecked. Rates apply mostly due to age and violations. Some cities do apply rate increases and generally major cities. FL, CA and GA have some of the highest rates overall. Rural areas pay cheaper due to less likely having a claim. I write Insurance in all 50 states.

Can someone please tell me how #2 - "The most expensive insurance premium is for a Dodge Viper" (the disembodied voiceover lady said that "its premium is $4048 per year...") - and #4 - "Auto insurance in Detroit is over $5000 per year" - can both be true in the same universe at the same time? This is aside from the mention of "...the most expensive insurance premium..." and not "...the most expensive *_car_* insurance premium..." Perhaps I missed something. Help...? On number 16 (oh, come on... true Aluxers know what's up with these "15 Things..." videos), based on the reason for insurance on a Viper being so expensive, it seems academic that a lot of the electric vehicles would have higher insurance premiums for similar reasons given their typically swifter-than-usual acceleration as compared to their competing internal combustion rivals. It is, therefore, interesting that speed wasn't mentioned in the bonus fact concerning EVs with higher insurance premiums.
@aaronlewis5465
@aaronlewis5465 5 жыл бұрын
Dude , you are absolutely correct. I shake my head at most of the stuff they put in their videos. The most expensive insurance premium is for a Dodge Viper in Detroit costing $4048 per year, yet in the dialogue of #4, "the average auto insurance premium in Detroit is $7000+????!!!! Really?? Nobody editing the video caught that? And as if the Dodge Viper is the fastest street legal car in the world? I can't even with these people...

Rarely any electric cars are faster then a regular sports car
@st8of1der
@st8of1der 5 жыл бұрын
@@MrBooster999 A part of me did not want to take your response seriously on account of your name but I am compelled to go out of my way to state that I am making the tough choice of choosing to look past it. With that said, I respectfully disagree. To address what you said about sports cars, in my experience (I've been around cars quite a while both as a mechanic and as an enthusiast), most vehicles are considered sports cars either because they are in the sports car category by the nature of their overall design (such as the Audi RS 5, Proche 911, BMW M4) or because they have the word "Sport" in the name or as a trim level (Range Rover Sport or Honda Accord Sport). I suspect you are referring to the former though this is not quite the point of my comment (as I didn't mention sports cars anywhere since I was commenting on all cars or, more particularly, on all respective car categories). I mentioned "competing internal combustion rivals" which is to say those which are in the same category, not all EVs versus all vehicles with internal combustion engines as a whole. For example, if we could agree that the regular Model 3 competes with something like a BMW 320i, we get zero-to-sixty times of 5.1 and 6.7 respectively. Meanwhile, the performance version of the Model 3 reaches 60 mph in 3.5 seconds while the M3 takes about 3.8. But I was not referring to sports cars alone but to all cars of all categories and when you break it down this way, the inverse of your statement becomes the case as it's difficult to find internal combustion vehicles in the same class as an EV that will outperform them with one of very few exceptions - if you blur the lines of car categories a bit (you'll see what I mean shortly if you keep reading which you might as well do if you've gone this far) - being the Dodge Demon which edges out the Model S P100D with a zero-to-sixty time of 2.1 (fastest recorded time I could find while many other references list 2.3 or 2.6) versus the P100D's 2.28 (both incredibly insane or, in the case of the Model S, "Ludicrous"). To be clear, when we get to this level of performance, we are no longer discussing mere sports cars but are getting into what a lot of people would consider to be the supercar territory as it doesn't get much faster than this without doing something that isn't street-legal such as removing legally-required components (like catalytic converters) and adding illegal equipment (such as NOS or rockets). As for the aforementioned car pairing (Demon and P100D), consistent with my point, these cars are not really even in the same class as one is quite technically a luxury sedan while the other is factory-produced almost exclusively for straight-line drag strip competition racing. Oh, and if you're just looking for what's going to be the most ridiculously-performing production car with regard to acceleration, keep an eye out for the Tesla Roadster to hit the streets circa 2020 with a break-neck acceleration time to 60 MPH in under two seconds!

@@MrBooster999 I can't claim to know - and am admittedly mostly uninterested in - the sexuality of automobiles (as far as them being gay or what-have-you). However, unfortunately for your claim, speed is something that can be observed and measured and it is empirically evident that the fastest production electric car is considerably faster - by at least a second (which is a lot in some situations) than the fastest production Viper or AMG vehicle I could find (at least, according to the reference I commonly use).

I must apologize for watching this video as I am A NOT A future billionaire. As a matter of fact in high school I was voted most likely to live in abject poverty my entire adult life. There are some things about the insurance industry you left out. The insurance industry wants to help you about as much as a room full deadly cobras do. The insurance industry is much like the Mafia except what they do you is legal. They are the largest and most powerful legal scam operators in the world. Notice that there are absolutely NO federal regulations on the insurance industry. Why not? Because they own the Senate and Congress so they can run their scams hassle free. American Family once had a "company policy" of not paying any claims submitted by low income customers because "they can't fight back" One thing they do extremely well is compile statistics, if you wanna know how long you're going to live don't go a doctor ask a life insurance company they are hauntingly accurate. Speaking of life insurance just for fun fill out an application lead the agent to believe you want to buy the dumb ass insurance them ask him or her what percentage of death benefit claims has your company decided to challenge this year The agent will then appear to have serious smell fart look on their face. What I'm referring to is the fact ALL companies that offer life insurance, at the start of each year they come up with percentage of the number of death benefit claims they will challenge that. What do I mean? Simply this challenging a claim is for the purpose of worming out of paying it. This is one of lowest dirtiest things they do. For example if some guy has misfortune to die in his thirties or fourtys he likely leave behind a wife and children. Now guys wife is going to grieving but as she recalls that her husband had a 200 thousand dollar life insurance policy it eases the pain a little. Now if slimy underbelly of her insurance company is successful in challenging that death benefit her 200 thousand quickly becomes 0. I assure the public is NOT supposed to know that. So when you ask little Joe or Jane agent what percent of death benefit claims are you challenging this year they get a massive smell fart look on their face. Now most of the rotten bastards will tell you they don't know which is a lie. I'll usually say something like well when you find out let me know. I've never had one agent call me back because they know how bad this makes them look. They would rather lose a customer than do business with someone who knows they shitty diapers in there desk drawer. Another scam is disability insurance . Now you must understand the dirtiest profane word in the insurance game is RISK!! They are NOT in the business of taking risks. So when you fill out the application simply ask "now your underwriter must approve my application right" again the smell fart look They don't want you to know how they do ANYTHING. They have to answer the question yes but it bothers them that you know how they do things. Then I say" if your underwriter approves my application it means I pose absolutely NO RISK to your company. That is an absolute fact. Every time an underwriter has to evaluate an application they take it very seriously because if they get it wrong they will soon be former underwriters. So if your underwriter approves me it pretty much means I don't need the policy because if I posed any risk to your company I'd be turned down Their isn't much they can say. Disability is one of their best scams. If you're injured and can't work as a professional tradesman They will likely agree you. However your not so injured that you can't stand behind a register at McDonalds so go do that because we're not paying you. How do these rotten bastards sleep at night Home owners is another scam they're ruthless on this one too. If something happens that is covered in your home owners see if you can pay for it yourself Why would you do that? Because in recent years they've had a large bug up their rectal cavity and have been dropping people after one claim. Now if whoever holds your mortgage finds out you have no homeowners they main ask you to vacate your home because they don't want you living in THEIR house without homeowners. They don't our right lie in their TV ads but they're still misleading. You are lead to believe your agent can help you with a denied claim or other similar problem. On the insurance industry's food chain your agent is a fly in the Geico cage. Well that's all the the fun for now be well

In future car insurance will be doomed because of automatic car

Raghava takari - I doubt it. The laws governing personal injury and compensation would need to change at the state and federal level. Also the car ownership registration would also need to change. Just because a Tesla can drive itself, doesn’t mean the owner of that car isn’t responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle.
